Heading to Prague in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on good smoke shops, places to have a smoke etc. Will be staying near the charles bridge.

Thanks everyone and Happy New Year

Try this site: tynska If it's anything like its American counterpart, Lexington Bar and Books, you are in for a great treat. I haven't been to Prague in 40 years, but I have such good memories that I hope to go again. Good luck!

It's been 6 years since I have been to Prague, but they do/did have a La Casa del Habano in the front lobby of the Intercontinetal. It was a pretty small shop, but it had the essentials.

I HIGHLY recommend La Bodeguita del Medio. Cuban style bar/restaurant and on the second floor is the Cohiba Cigar Club. Decent cigar selection, buy one take it downstairs to smoke with a very good mojito. Cuban food available too. It's just a couple of minutes from the Old Town Square.

The Tynska bar and books is an outstanding joint - so long as you don't mind being around expats and tourists. The liquor selection is great and the women - ah, the women.

If you're into gambling, be sure to check out the fantastic casinos in central Prague. Avoid the ones at the American-owned hotels as they're pretty cheesy. But the non-hotel casinos can be extremely elegant affairs. Let's put it this way, you won't find guys wearing their very best "Bikini Inspector" baseball caps. No one is dragging around their oxygen tank looking for the nickel slots. And the scotch is not served in a plastic cup.

And, yes, you can smoke cigars there.

You could go to Wenceslas Square, smoke one while you sit on a bench, people watching or just walk the loop. One word of caution, however, if you do this after dark, be forwarned, you will be propositioned by the women of the night. The later it gets, the higher the density of "ladies" per tourist. I walked the plaza loop in 20 minutes last spring and got hit on 14 times. They also have the casinos mentioned above on the Square but I didn't go into any.

As roycigar mentioned, there is a LCDH in the lobby of the Intercontinental Hotel; however, given its relatively small size and somewhat remote location I wouldn't consider it a "destination" given the other options available.
