Hey RoyCigar,

Habana Hut is roughly close to 3 miles away or a 15-to-20 minute ride from Peter Luger. Going West on Northern Blvd, and then make a right on Bell Blvd, and another right on 41st Ave.

My girlfriend lives in Bayside, and she is the one who brought this great cigar place to my attention after having a fabulous steak dinner at Uncle Jack's on nearby Bell Blvd.

How's Peter Luger in Great Neck?

Peter Luger is arguably the best steakhouse in the country...there original, flagship location is in Brooklyn (Williamsburgh) and it took me a couple of visits at the Great Neck location to be convinced the steak is the same quality/taste. Go with the porterhouse, creamed spinach, and home potatoes--you won't be disappointed....Cash only.

I recently when to visit a friend of mine, Francisco Velez, Jr., better known to his friends as 'Cisco' in Middletown, New York. I drove from Bayside, Queens heading upstate for 1.5 hours to get to his cigar shop named Havana House Cigar Lounge which he owns with his father.

The Havana House Cigar Lounge is the place to go for a great smoke and good coffee in Middletown after a hearty porterhouse steak. 'Cisco' makes all of his own boutique cigars right there in the cigar lounge. He has great cigars available and you can select them from the large room Humidor.

In an age when nearly almost all restaurants and bars in New York City are smoke-free, a refuge for cigar aficionados is available in Middletown, New York.

The Havana House Cigar Lounge and store is located in a building at 39 West Main St., right across the street from Middletown City Hall and the police department.

The owners - Francisco Velez, Sr., and Francisco Velez, Jr. known as 'Cisco' have been big-time cigar smokers for the past 10 years.

I travel to Orlando from the UK a couple of times a year and always like it in the Sosa Cigar Bar in Downtown Disney.

I also went to Cigarz at Universal's Citwalk to buy some, but didn't stop for a drink sadly, but it looked good. Likewise, Corona Cigar Company on Sand Lake road has a massive selection and a pretty nice bar area.

It was a huge find to learn of this restaurant/lounge in my little country town in western Loudoun County Va.

The Purcellville Grille at Main Street Station is maybe the last cigar friensly establishment in the Northern Va area. It has very good food and will allow you to smoke your own cigar in the lounge side of the restaurant They don't sell cigars but are very cigar friendly -- nice crystal cigar ashtrays etc.

Its definitely a rarity to find such places these days!

Raleigh NC is still a nice place to smoke a cigar. Plenty of places that will let you light up. My two favorites:
Amra's
http://www.amrasraleigh.com/
and
Havana Deluxe in the Glenwood South area, just down the street from Amra's.
There are many restaurants that will let you light up a stogie in the bar area.
Sullivan's Steakhouse and the Angus Barn are my two favorites. The Angus Barn has a nice humidor, loaded with ultra premium cigars.
A recent list of cigar friendly restaurants in the Raleigh area had 45 names on the list....

I too am in California and the cigar friendly establishments are becoming a Dead Zone in the Southland.

However this is NOT the intent of my reply. Last year I had the pleasure of a trip to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Not 50 feet from the Millenium Hotel is a club called 101. It is not only Desgned for the Cigar Smoker, it also has a wonderful array of liquors and gourmet foods served upstairs. Thr robust proprietor was a estremely knowlaedgable man and generous as well. Cubans and Non cuban line the shop and i found the quality to be top notch.

It was a wonderful trip and nice break from the cigar unfriendliness of California. I look forward to a return trip this fall.

Just an update perhaps - The Owl Shop in New Haven has quite a nice bar that does sell drinks (beer, liquor, port, sherry, wine) and a coffee bar. May not have been the case in 2006 when first posted but is now. I understand they offer music over the weekend. Being right next to Yale, this may not be the most conducive to a good cigar and conversation but Saturday afternoon was a very nice experience. Good selection of cigars too.

Not much in the way of accessories though which surprised me.

When in the Merida, Mexico, in the Yucatan peninsula, Mercer Cigar's is a must see. Located just a mile north of the historic center of the city, the cigar bar has the finest selection of imported beers and single malt scotch in the southern half of the country. It's walk-in humidors is one of the largest in all of Mexico, with an extraordinary selection of recent production and aged cuban cigars. The hostesses are lovely and the American food is delicious.

If you are looking for a place that allows smoking everywhere including the hospital room, try Wyoming Smile I went to a small town there the other weekend and everyone and their dog was still smoking everywhere even inside! I lit up a cigar and the only looks I got were because I was a woman and not wearing cowboy boots Wink

I live in Aurora, CO and a little over five miles from me is Havana's fine Cigars. It is a Cigar lounge, not a bar but you can bring whatever you would like to drink. They have a get together every third thursday of the month which is called Guy's night but any woman who smokes cigars is certainly welcome. They also have a get together every last friday of the month. Hope to see you there sometime.

I just got a job at the Smoker friendlys in South Parker Ave. We are opening a Cigar lounge on Wed the 15th It is going to be awesome. They just finished building it and it will have two Flat screen TV's with Direct TV, a Coffee Bar, free soda for Patrons and a walk in humidor.

Possibly will have a poker table also and I forgot the big, comfy chairs.

We are having a Alec Bradley tasting event on the 15th to open it. Anybody is welcome.

If you are in Louisville Colorado try a place called Havana Manor. This is a place with good down to earth people and a relaxing atmosphere. Sit and enjoy good people and good smokes. Here is the link to check it out.

It looks like I may be in Manila towards the end of the month for about 6 days, can anyone recommend a couple of cigar lounges that will be memorable:ie; cigar selection, drinks, ambiance (pretty hostesses..).
I hear good things about the custom made humidors in P.I. as well, I would really like to bring one back, any suggestions.
Thanks for any input.
