For folks in the Downstate region of New York (like the Dutchess/Orange/Ulster county areas), the closest place is the cigar bar at Schlesinger's Steakhouse in Vails Gate, NY. I live just 15 minutes away, so I treat myself 2-3 times a month.
The place combines a non-smoking restaurant, a cigar bar, and an adjoining smoke shop, Hudson Valley Cigars. (The cigar shop URL appears to be down today for some reason...)
The cigar bar has a number of cushy leather chairs and sofas which are ideal for enjoying your favorite beverage and smoke.

I just read the post about the Cigar Bar in Westlake Village, CA called the Cigar Zone. This is a nice place to go for a quick smoke but not the best Cigar Bar in Westlake Village by Far.

The Smoke Zone in Thousand Oaks which is right on the border of Westlake Village is one of the best Cigar Bars I have ever seen.

As you walk in to this Mecca of Cigars you are greeted by a Traditional Cigar Store Indian, walk through the entry to dark wood finish through out. On your left is a wide array of top quality liquor and spirits, cigar cutters, lighters and other collectables in glass and crystal cases. On your right is a counter with the friendly staff waiting to assist you. The walls on the right hand side are filled with Cigarette's and hand rolled tobaccos, more lighters, fluids, pipes and more.

Straight ahead is the entrance to their walk in Humidor. Lined with top quality cigars from every corner. Almost every name that has graced the top ranks of Cigar Aficionado including the Fuente Fuente OpusX! They also have a cigar roller their every week rolling fantastic sticks for cheap.

Once you have purchased that most treasured of sticks, you walk out of the humidor, go to your right to another room with a Bar, walls lined with Wines, Ports and a Glass Fridge with all the best import beers to compliment your cigar.

Sit down on one of their many leather cushioned chairs or sofas light up your experience and prepare to have one of the best times of your life!

- Cheers

Who would have thought that Omaha was so welcoming to cigar enthusiasts? Are the girls always there enjoying a smoke or only at certain times? Smile

The girls on the website www.cigarrosomaha.com and in the calendar (also on the site) all work there.
Plus many new faces just as lovely. They are the bartenders, waitresses and front-counter. You can find two to four of them there everyday 4-close. Noon to 4 usually just the manager, Shahin. He knows how to run a cigar-bar! Be sure to stop in if you are ever passing through Omaha.

A great palce to stop by when traveling the southwest is stogie and vine, a new cigar bar that recently opened in Tucson, AZ. The selection is great, they also carry a long wine list that includes wines from all over the U.S. as well as around the globe. The interior has a new age hip kind of feel to it and the service is amazing. Check them out at stogieandvine.com

Wood,

Go to Holts for your cigars and then go to the bar right next door to enjoy them. I was there about two months ago and it was like I died and went to cigar heaven. The bar next door is called Mohogany (sp).

Can anyone recommend something in the San Francisco Bay Area? I seem to be having a hard time finding a place to smoke.

In San Francisco, there is a membership cigar club located inside Shanghai 1830 restaurant, which I believe is located on Steuart Street (a couple of doors down from the Harbor Court Hotel and in the general vicinity of Boulevard Restaurant). Without a doubt one of the absolute finest and classiest cigar bar/clubs I have ever been to in the world, though membership is rather steep.

i've come upon a new cigar bar to try out in the toledo, OH area. it's called La Casa Dela Habana, it has three lounges, a well stocked bar, very good selection of cigars to choose from, a whole wall of accessories for your cigar care needs, and gorgeous bartenders. so if you're ever in the area, hit it up, it's on monroe street across from the franklin park mall, next to red lobster, it's a great atmosphere, and the help is great.

That Cigarro in Omaha is a joint. I wish it had something like that here in Tokyo where I just moved. I miss a lot my Manhattan hang-outs like Club Macanudo, Bar&Books Lex, and Grand Havana Club. Let me know if you know of a great places in Tokyo.

In Boston we have two. Churchill's down in Faneuil Hall, and Cigar Masters on Boylston St. Never been to Churchill's, but Cigar Masters is VERY nice. Bar and walk-in up front, leather sofas, chairs in the back. Chess/checker tables, fireplaces, etc!
