Just curious if any of you guys out there have ever fished the Eastern Sierra out here in California. Especially the Mammoth Lakes area. I have only missed two summers since 1986, so I am quite familiar with most fishing spots up there. So, if any of you have fished up there what are some of your favorite spots to fish?

P.S. I am headed up Wednesday night with a lot of beer and cigars! Later guys.

Mammoth has everything you want. Used to go every year from Bishop wild trout area up to the entire Mammoth Basin, Hot Creek and the Upper Owens River. I got into fly fishing so I'd hit San Joaquin River and other streams feeding the lakes. I miss those trips since moving out of California. I always had a good variety of cigars with me. I hope you catch some large browns and Alpers. Have a great time!

Sounds like fun especially during the summer heat in the South. It’s been a good twenty years or so since I fished the picturesque Convict, or the rather blasé Crowley. We had the best times on the June Lake loop that also included Gull, and my favorite Silver Lake. There are probably many pathfinder spots up in that area that would really be special. A nice campfire with cigars and marshmallows in the cool evening would certainly be something to remember. Good luck fishing.
