Thanks for the kind feedback. Yes, my wife and I have been lucky enough to travel around quite a bit and writing the trip reports have become a great hobby of mine. It is fun to see that they are being read by people from all over the world

I did something similar about 23 years ago, email if you'd like. Then again 23 years is a long time ago and things may have changed too much. Have a good time and don't forget to include Sweden!

I would also recommend that you not try to go so many places in such a short time. I honeymooned for a month in Europe and we went to four cities. Spending a day or two, constantly moving, won't be much fun if you really want to get a sense of what the city is like. Slow down, relax, have fun . . .
And don't go to Europe in August.
Excellent points Coriolanus! I agree that Venice shouldn't be missed and more time in fewer locations is the way to go, IMHO.

Never been there. When I did the backpacking trip, I thought it was too expensive and hard to get to. However, when I was in Greece, I met some Swedish girls who were extremely hot and... um... nevermind... go to Sweden.

I would've loved to have travelled europe 23 years ago, my uncle rode a bicycle from england to greece around then and said it was an incredible experience. Unfourtunately over time it just seems to get more touristy and thus more expensive. Sweden is a little northern for my route but I have to agree with Jared about Swedsh girls so maybe I can divert slightly..
Cheers SubChop and Jared, I'll take you up on those offers once I've got abit more of a solid plan in place. _______________________________________________

Yeah, but Europe has been too touristy for decades. After Hemingway wrote The Sun Also Rises, toreo aficionados were upset with the huge increase in tourism for the corrida.
And then there's the fact that it is touristy because there are many things in Europe that are worth seeing. I will put up with crowds at the Louvre and D'Orsay because they artwork is worth it, as is the price of admission.

If you have a chance, try to at least swing through some part of Eastern Europe. It will be well worth your time. Prague and Budapest come to mind - but Bucharest and Sofia if you're feeling adventurous.

I'm not sure about 'too touristy', it has to depend where you go; the south of spain for example is basically a British/Dutch colony nowadays. It is getting more touristy, but there are plenty of un-tarnished places left, the south of Italy is still amazing and not too expensive. I agree that alot of the crowdest places are still worth going to though, especially Paris. ________________________________________________

Yeah, definately. The Czech Repulic and Slovenia were already both high on my list of destinations. I'm also heading to croatia to sail for a week this summer so if I like that I'm sure I'll go through there too. However I have been told that travellers do not fare well in Romania.. _______________________________________________

chipster... first of.. best of luck with the nuptials. Rome is probably one of, if not the most amazing place you may ever step foot. The Piazza De Venezia is a must see. The Vatican and St Peters are also a must do. Fountain of Trevi.. cool.. worth a quick look.. when heading south. Capri is great.. but i actually preferred Positano...the most amazing views as you drive throuh Mayori and Minori along the winding cliffs(especially at night time) Some great restaraunts as well. I could go on forever... but i will mention one thing.. as a wine maker and drinker.. i always am interested in the wines @ dinner. The one thing i learned.. when going to the restaraunts.. ask the waiter or maitre d' if you can have the owners wine.. the homemade stuff. Best stuff around.. just be careful if you are driving after.. cause it is POTENT..
