JB Black is respectable but there's something about that line that does not impress me. Too smokey? I'd rather drink Bookers and have it uncut by anything. The white label is too young and must take a mixer IMO.

Blanton's is a good underrated JB small batch.

Jim Beam staight up. Sipped slowly to warm you up on cold winter nights.
I agree though on the smokey somewhat charcol flavor. Not realy a favorite of mine but will drink it if it's there.

I drink the white lable neat or with just a splash of water. I don't like to mix good burbon with other liquids.

Frankly, I don't care for Jim Beam, with or without anything. I've tried a few times years ago, didn't like it. Then somebody gave me bottle, which I couldn't drink a dram, so I gave it to my wife for adding in things she cooks - like pastries, sauces, meat, etc. I was glad when she finally finished it two year ago or so.

When it comes to bourbon I prefer Woodford Reserve, Knob Creek or Gentleman Jack

Doc, with utmost respect I must beg you not to confuse Tennessee whisky with Kentucky Bourbon. Smile

Of course you are correct. Jack Daniels Old #7, and Gentleman Jack are not really Bourbon because they are not from Kentucky.

But they are GOOOOOOOOD

Speaking of J.D. has anyone tried the Single Barrel. It appears to be pretty elusive.
