Oh, I love this forum...
I am Italian, by noon I am already dreaming of what I can cook for dinner. If I am working late, my wife cooks and is exceptional. She is from South America, but of German descent so there is a whole range of items she does very well. I do all the Mediterranean fare as well as Cajun (I went to college in New Orleans). The heart of our home is the kitchen. Our family of 5 lives in our kitchen more than any other room in the house. We eat dinner together every night that is humanly possible and our kids (13, 8 and 3) have adventurous palates already. There aren't many things better than a delicious meal, great wine, followed by a great cigar, are there?

Great topic. I'm definitely in charge of BBQ and fried items. My wife is in charge of cooking the rest.

My husband does all of the grilling and most of the cooking (when we actually have time to eat together), basically because he's such a picky eater that I just gave up trying to make new and interesting things that I hoped he'd like. He's a real meat and potatoes kind of guy, whereas I like to experiment.

But I do all the baking. I love to bake!

My wife is a gourmet cook, so she enjoys and therefore usually does most of the cooking during the week.

However, she lets me cook on the weekends, which usually consists of outdoor grilling (fish, shrimp, steaks, chicken, etc.) or BBQ (ribs, brisket, sausage, chicken, etc).

Cooking outdoors provides me plenty of time to enjoy a nice cigar!

Two beers or not two beers...
What was the question?

My boyfriend and I have lived together for 2 years now. We both cook. He is better since he is addicted to Food Network but I am improving (Im only 24 and my mom lives in resturants, so not lessons there). He just recently taught me to make the perfect medium rare filet on a BBQ.

I'm the only vegetarian in the house, so I always have to cook for myself, but I rather enjoy it, because I can always improvise, and I don't have to worry about it tasting bad (since I'm the only one eating it :-) )

I do the bulk of the cooking. My wife has a nasty habit of setting off the smoke alarm when she cooks.

My wife is an amazing woman. Unfortuately she detests cigars and is not crazy about cooking. She is a pretty good cook. She doesn't enjoy it though. I love cooking. If I wasn't so stinking lazy I would do it alot more often. I used to bake bread a ton also. I averaged a good 100 lbs. of flour a year for the first 4 years of my marriage. I've been married now for 6 years. I think I'm going to start up the bread thing again. My mom is a fantastic Mexican cook. I am so glad I was born a Mexican. Our food rules.

In the 9 years my wife and I have been together, I can count the number of meals she's cooked on both hands. I am a mostly retired professional chef, had to get out of the business. But I still enjoy cooking for family, something more gratifying about it. I am looking forward to my daughter <16months old> being old enough for me to teach how to cook.

So all you "grill guys" ever try your hand at smoking anything other than cigars? As of late, I've been perfecting my smoking so that I can start doing competitions next season. Took the family to a bbq competition over the summer and had the baby wearing a button a friend had made for me "Vegetables are what food eats" because, I guess you could say, I'm a hardcore carnivore.

No, just kidding. However, Mexicans use any chile a "New Mexican" would use. Of Course New Mexico has spectacular chiles. So the Mexicans Americans would use the New Mexican chiles. Whew, how many times can you type Mexican in 5 sentences? Eek
