I am flying to Italy soon and was hoping I could get some help in finding great spots to buy cuban cigars. I'll be in Tuscany for 2 weeks. Rome is only 3 hours away. Can anyone help with where to buy in that part of Italy?

Fuggedaboutit. Italy wants to sell off Tuscany cigars, not Cubans.

You may be able to get some boxes of Cubans at the Duty Free Shop at the airport (not an American airport).

i can help you but let me know where exsactly you go for your holiday.

Now in rome there are many tabacconist with much cuban cigars.

Today in Italy you can find each cuban cigars (commercials)But for help you i must know in wich city or town you go!

Unfortunately, Italy is not a great place to pick up Cuban cigars, or any name brand cigars for that matter.

I don't know why that is exactly, but in two trip there covering most of the country, I've never found good premium cigars.

The first time I was there I was told by a local that some sort of Italian tobacco monopoly has successfully lobbied to keep out imported cigars in favor of selling their own.

sorry my friends but i am not agree with you.Mybe you tolking about many years ago !!! But now you can find many tabacconist with a lot of cuban cigars!! In Italy are sold 2.500.000 pieces this years ,like many other country of europe Germany ,swiss.....

At least in 2000 at the airport in Rome, the only cubans I could find were Partagas Petit Coronas. There weren't many cigars either.

HI to all, I confirm wath pointed out by Habanaman (he lives in North Italy) and myself lives in the South. In the past five years italian cigar market has grown consistently and nowdays you can easy find in each town (almost) 2-3 Tobacco shop specialised in Cuban Cigars.

i'm also planning a trip to italy, but i'm going next year with my fiancee, i hope to find some good smoke shops, fine wine stores, and great restaurants.

I always bring my cigars with me, so I can't help you on that front, but in Tuscany, get yourself a car and head out and explore the little towns between Sienna and Firenze. Eat in small places, order the house wine, and enjoy the most beatiful countryside that I have ever seen.

And even if you don't go for cigars, you should go to Rome. If you like art, fashion, history, or architecture you need to be there. It's my favorite city in the world so far...

I was fortunate enough to live in Vicenza (Northern Venetto region) for a while. That was back in the 90's and I did not find much in the way of cigars, but I sure found beautiful people, food, and wine. And try the grappa! The Dolomiti are wonderful to explore.

If you go to the Cinqua terra area in the northwest coastal region, avoid July-August.

My advice...get a car and get out of the tourist areas. I drove all over from Genoa to Venice and loved the drive through the back country (no Autostrada). Went back in 2004 and stayed up in Valle D'Aosta...INCREDIBLE scenery. Ah, Bella Italia....
