I've been lurking through these forums for past couple of months and am enthralled by everyone's perception of life. With this being said, how a person defines "the good life" is an ambiguous matter and diffult to define.

Question: How do you define "the good life?"

Health.
Wealth.
Happiness.

1.) Health is most important

2.) A rewarding job that doesn't possess all of your time.

3.) The love of friends and family.

4.) Enough money to live comfortably....whatever your definition of that may be.

5.) Spiritual Peace

6.) An appreciation for all of the above.

The love of a good woman

Children and grandchildren. If you don't have a loving family nothing else counts.

Health, of course and a successful job that you are content doing.

A good way to relax, be it cigars, fishing, reading a good book or just doing nothing.

I've got to agree with Doc. The love of your family, the passion in your career, the ability to relax and enjoy things....that to me is the good life.

I can only echo what others have said...health, love, purpose, wealth...all in the right balance for YOU.

IMHO, the "good life" consists of the following:

--Health

--The love of a good woman and family

--A rewarding job...do what you love, but love what you do.

--Experiencing at least one good round of golf, one good fishing trip, a glass of Henry VIII cognac (I belive that's the correct brand...comes in a round bottle with a hole through the middle), and one realy good cigar.

--drive an exotic sports car (Ferrari for me)

--The respect of your peers

Finaly (for me anyways), being on my death bed, looking back on my life and dying knowing that I had no regrets and was not wondering, "What if...?"

Mom: "Twenty dollars for a cigar?!?! Why don't you just set fire to a $20 bill?"

Response: "Get a $20 bill to taste like a Davidoff and I'll light my entire paycheck on fire!"
