Have there been a decision regarding the dates and locations for the 2006 Big Smokes. I'm planning my plane ticket purchases and sales trips! Wink

How about a Minneapolis mid winter freeze your butt off one? Bet lots of people would come to it.

The smoking ban in Florida makes it tough for us to have Big Smokes in that state.

If New Orleans has recovered in time, wouldn't it be great to hold it there?

It may seem silly, but how about a Nashville, TN location? CAO is based out of Nashville and the smoking laws are non-discriminatory.

I would like one in Cleveland or Pittsburgh. The sole reason being I am selfish and would like one close to me so I can easily attend.

Thanks for the reply David!

Ok, how about an Atlanta, GA Big Smoke! It's road trip worthy for us Florida folks. All these west coast, mid west and northern Big Smokes are to distant for those of us living in the South east. I know plenty who would attend!!

Please, at least consider it.

Thank You,
Marc

I would say a Big Smoke Schedule that consisted of maybe 5 stops, ending in LV.

Stop one: Orlando/Miami- There are so many nice hotels or ballrooms that would hold the event and with that in mind, i dont know if the smoking restrictions would matter.

2: Atlanta or Dallas- Somewhere that could accomodate a nice chunk of people with a nice smoking friendly environment.

3: Phoenix- What more is there to say about this AWESOME city.

4: LA- Yes Cali has a smoking ban, but the smoking crowd in LA is HUGE!!! Celebs, stars, sports, you name it, they smoke.

5: FINALE---- LV. You know how it goes.

Again.. how about Nashville?

1) No Smoking ban
2) Lots of hotels/entertainment options
3) CAO headquarters

Just a thought..

Gee whiz, David. Don't you love me? 3 posts and not one response. Gosh, I even started this thread and you responded to Earl. Wink

Seriously, what do you think of a Southern Big Smoke location? Specifically, Nashville or perhaps Atlanta?

Nashville was an RTDA convention site a few years back. Looks like it would work.

Or, if I can't have Nashville, maybe just a response to my original question regarding Big Smoke locations/tenative dates for 2006, if available?

I agree with K2. LA would be a great Idea or maybe do 2 Las Vegas smokes a year (every 6 months?).

Sorry--didn't mean to upset you!

We've had Big Smokes in Atlanta before, so it's possible that we could return. This is something that our Events Department is working on right now. We'll see what they come up with soon.

As far as the next LVBS, i would love to be a part of this event. I have some great ideas that would be able to please all sorts of people. But more so, i say a different Hotel. the Wynn or Bellagio would be awesome. Something upscale with TONS of rooms. Something where CA could have the resturants set up special cigar tables for diners to smoke while watching the Fountains at Bellagio or something along those lines.

Maybe a Winter and Summer event. I can only imagine what a LVBS would be poolside during the day. Sun, Drinks, Cigars... GIRLS... only in Paradise (or LV)

Yeah. If they do hold one in Atlanta and they don't plan it during a Braves home stand, that would be a total F'Up.

Oh, honey, you didn't upset me! I was just messing with you. Didn't you see the wink?

I would love to see more Southern events, though! Please use all your power, prestige and authority to make that happen. Wink

How about Detroit? We've already had the All Star Game and the Super Bowl is coming up. There are quite a few places to set this up. It would be nice to chalk up one more event in the area.
