I've already picked up my October and December issues. But I'm hoplessly back logged with my reading. I enjoy Cigar Aficionado so much, that I want to reserve reading it untill I can enjoy it the most. Almost like having to save smoking a fine cigar untill conditions are just right.

I'm just now reading the artical on the Cohiba factory entiteled, "Wives, Smoking and Cohibas,"
To this point, I've enjoyed it very much.
When I noticed something wrong in the picture on page 200. The ladies are rolling Cohibas in the factory. But if you look closely at the lady with the yellow halter top, you see that she's not wearing any shoes, and her feet are near the box of tobacco leaves.

This has thrown me completely off of Cohibas.
I can no longer see myself smoking a Cohiba cigar with this picture fresh in my mind.

I'll be wondering if this adds to the flavor of the cigar.
I'll be thinking about the aroma from the cigar, and how that relates to that ladies feet.

I'm joking. I've never smoked a Cohiba.
I still look forward to smoking a Cohiba.

But I thought this was a bit odd.
She knew there were pictures being taken that day.
But yet, she never put her shoes on. Nor did her supervisor tell her to put her shoes on.

Is this weird?

Why would they let that picture be taken?
Do they have any quality control?
I know they live in a third world country. With little or no, health standards.
But I would have thought that, at the very least, they would have to keep shoes on their feet.

YUCK!

Ah, come on. You've taken me all wrong.
I said I was just joking.
I found it funny that they would allow here to have the picture taken with no shoes on.

It's really not big deal.
It's funny, that's all.

Of course, in the U.S., we'd have workplace safety and sanitation issues, FDA issues, labor union issues, probably some half-baked ADA issues, barefoot lifestyle advocacy group issues... Wink

(not that I'd want to swap systems with them, though, that's for sure)

Actually if she took her shoes off once she was inside the building, her feet are probably cleaner than the shoes she walked to work in would be.

Yup, I'll give you that much.
Her feet may just be cleaner than her shoes, because, after she showered in the morning she put on her shoes and walked to work in the mud.

So I guess it's cleaner that way.
