I can feel your pain. I was charged triple for a ride from the airport in Athens, Greece. Funny thing is, the cabbie didn't even get me to my hotel. He dropped me off in the middle of some neighborhood at 11 pm (and it was raining, too). He told me to get out of the cab and that "this is where your hotel should be." Luckily, I saw the hotel name in lights about a block away.
Even though you were overcharged, at least he dropped you at the museum, lol.
