Some confusion regarding this wrapper and I hope you guys can help me out. I have always thought that the havana 2k was a cuban creation? I have seen NC makers stating that they are using it? I am also hearing about a seed that is called Habano 2000. What is that? are they the same? If this Habano 2k is real, is it what covers cigars such as the Oliva serie O and the pepin vegas cubanas? Is there different sources of HABANO seed. Im a thinking that I've heard of cuban seed habano as if there is nicaraguan seed habano, dominican seed habano, etc, etc.

It was a Cuban creation, but like just about all tobacco seed hybrids it eventually made its way to fields in Central America and elsewhere. Tobacco seed is very, very small, and easily transported. There's also tons of it in a field, so it's very hard to keep it from travelling. Whenever you see a new hybrid developed, it's not long before it appears somewhere else, generally speaking.

Tobacco seed also takes on the characteristics of the local area, so the same seed grown in different countries can taste quite different.
