HELP I have a desktop humidor with a bunch of different cigars in it (all Cubans). My Montecristo#2's are loose and I have some 5 packs and 3 packs of Hoyo's and Romeo's. I noticed a couple of small holes in one of the Hoyo's and upon further inspection I found a damn beetle running down one of the Monte#2's. I read the article about freezing them, and I have one question. In the humidor, I also have some Punch,Monte, and Romeos in aluminum tubes. Can those cigars forego the freezing process, or is there a chance that the bugs made their way into the tubos? thanks, DennisCigar
If your caps are screwed on, or your tube halves are set, then there is no way a beetle will get in to a tubed cigar. But nothing will stop them from hatching in the tubed cigars.
Since your humidor environment is obviously conducive to beetles, I'd go ahead and treat all of them to the freezer.
Good luck and my condolences.

Although beetles can eat right through cellophane they are not able to eat through aluminium or glass.
If you saw beetles you should empty out your humidor, freeze the cigars and clean out the humidor. Check the humidification device as well, as the beetles are very small and can hide any place that they want to.
Lower the temperature in your humidor or you may get more beetles.
