Gil - It's explained in the magazine.

Or you could just look here: CA Moments to remember

Great -- another wedding picture. I just hope all the cigars are actually lit.

What so ever you do, prepare to be disappointed, when your picture ends up in a paper basket, thrown away.
Well you might have a chance being an American.
I have posted a picture some months ago, I heard nothing, and I have not seen the picture in the magazine.
It was a picture of five Danish officers (well four and a chaplain) smoking cigars in Iraq - like I have seen a lot of american officers do on pictures from Iraq. The moment to remeber was, that I was leaving Iraq the very next day.
Well, the CA editors might not know that Denmark is a part of the coalition force in Iraq fighting and patrolling together with the American and British soldiers only in the southerns part of Iraq nearby Basrah (British Area of Responsibility).
Actually one will never find oneself as an accepted part of CA's readers, if one is living on the far side of the Atlantic.

Don't give up hope, Kreiner. It usually takes a VERY long time for them to print them (assuming they selected your pic). Are you sure you followed all their rules? They have a bunch.

To Coriolanus...

How could I know?
I have paid my subscription (on CA, I refuse to pay to Cigar Insider), I have send the picture, I have written a caption.
What else could I do?
Well, I have not send any cigars...

Send picks to the address specified in the magazine. There are many to go through so you have to patient, perhaps mention you are a forum member and try to make the picture you send in different and amusing. This will set it apart from the rest. We are glad to put in traditional photos: weddings, fishing trips, etc. but are always looking for something original.

make sure you're not actually holding a lit cigar. they only put in people waving unlit macanudos or groups of naked fat guys in hot tubs

I guess your photo wasn't Different or Amusing enough. You should have had them holding their 'fishing poles'. Big Grin
