...are the ratings for the threads on this forum. There are 15 threads rated only one star currently, and almost every thread is rated. The one star ratings are not consistant. It looks as though some a$$wipe is just randomly rating every thread on this forum.

What gets me is that whoever the spineless Ba$tard is that's doing this just does not fess up and face whom or what they oppose. If someone has a problem with me face up to it and tell me or even better, meet me for some one-on-one via email. This anonymous rating is a joke

I hate the ratings and really think they should be removed, for they serve no purpose except as an outlet for some snot-nosed-yellow-bellied spineless Mofo to "get back" at this forum and the people who post here. The ratings serve no purpose, because no one takes them seriously and the only ones who use it are children who are too afraid of confrontation.

Come on Dave, please remove the ratings! I ask everyone to respond to this thread and demand that they be removed.

I agree with Plume, the ratings are worthless, a tool for trolls and nothing more!!!!

The threads already have a rating system that works perfectly well, its called the number of views/responses. Good threads get a lot of responses, and stay more or less near the top. I think that's about all we need.

Come on guys, it's the only way way gjgman knows how to participate.

Plume, I have already fought this battle and lost. cA handed the issue to the members of the forum and a majority voted to keep the ratings feature. When I notice the ratings at all, I find that the value of a thread is inversely correlated to the number of stars it has been "awarded."

As I mentioned before, I love rating the threads.

Getting rid of the ratings because of a jerk poster is just wrong. Imagine the president that would set, if we allow the abuses of the foolish to dictate how the boards operate.

I think the ratings are somewhat worthless as well. I look in the C&CC and see posts about soruce verification and alike getting ratings. I'll admit there are some legitimate threads with ratings.

If ratings are to exist, I think there should be some sort of audit; list the people who rated the thread.

While the ratings were designed to give readers a sense of the content of a post, they are, indeed, used to advance the sick, very sick, agendas of some very bitter people, and it's obvious that the ratings have become a REVERSE barometer of the quality of a post. So, look at it that way. The people rating the posts have been booted off the site in some way, shape or form, vowing to stay in their own sandbox and never to come to the site, but come they do, under various manifestations and new names, and while they cannot post directly to the site, or Admin picks off their posts, what they do is mis-rate the threads to discredit the poster. Again - this is some deep psychological stuff these people are dealing with and there seems to be no end to their pettiness. Absolutely no end to their depravity...I mean, wouldn't it be easy enough simply to leave well enough alone? No. Not good enough!
