I have that whole set of CA magazines coming and was planning on reading them from the oldest first. In a lot of old town newspapers, they have stuff like news from 50 years ago. A lot of times it is pretty hokey. But I was thinking it might make an interesting small blurp if you related back to say - cigar prices in 75 or cars, etc. Since a lot of your readers may have been around then, it might be amusing to them. Or maybe an old quote from an interview that now seems more profound or stupid!!! Bob

thats a good idea- esp some of the high flyers in the boom- could be the flip side of this months people that made it. Just showing them in their dated fashion would be enough to discredit them! As you go through the stack- notice how some terms are coined and then used extensivly for a while- it gets to the point on some issues as to be assumed fact. There are a lot (well several) self crafted (unintentional) urban legends that people defend to this day, and perpetuate here online. Don`t want to mention them here, as they are hot topic kinds of things- but really get into the writing style. You have some good times ahead!

They don't get to use your idea until they use my Alton Brown interview idea.

Mike

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill

Jon Favreau should also be interviewed. He makes good movies, smokes cigars in his IFC show . . . and yet we keep getting articles on people no one really cares about (e. g. billionaire doofuses who open new resorts, restaurants, etc.).
