This one was held up a bit by the big news out of Nicaragua: on Tuesday morning, it became clear that Daniel Ortega seemed to have won Nicaragua's election. Nicaragua is the third-largest producer of premium cigars for the U.S. market, and a major supplier of leaf to cigarmakers in other countries, so this was big news, as things were not good the last time Ortega held power. That meant reporting and writing a significant story for that day's issue. I managed to contact and interview four major Nicaraguan cigarmakers before writing the story.
We aim to launch the issue at 5 pm on the day it comes out, but sometimes the news of the day makes us a little late. And yes, the fact that we were all out in Vegas for the Big Smoke made things a bit more hectic as well. Sorry for the delay, but thanks for reading Cigar Insider.
