So what happened to this weeks Cigar Insider? It's the only thing I look forward to on a Tuesday.

Next one is coming August 25th, according to the message on the last page of the last Insider.

Yes, Cigar Insider is published twice a month, always on a Tuesday, which is typically every other Tuesday. Now and then, however, there is an additional week between issues. We needed some extra time with this next one, as it begins our comprehensive coverage on the new cigars of IPCPR, plus has our preview of cigar ratings from the upcoming CA. This will be a big issue.

I'm no expert on cigars. I bought and smoked a Cohiba when I was on my honeymoon in Aruba, and accidentally inhaled and according to my wife, "turned green." I smoked "Benchmade" cigars last weekend at a (cousin's) wedding and started to get sick at the end of the cigar the 2nd (and last) night we smoked. So I guess milder is better, although the $4 cigar you mentioned sounds intriguing.

Regards...

Rocky, while the Benchmade is milder than a Cuban Cohiba, it's made with tobacco from Pepin Garcia, who works in stronger flavors. You can certainly go milder. Perhaps you'd like a Macanudo Cafe, Fonseca (original), Davidoff, or something else along those lines? Look through our ratings for the word "mild" and try cigars of that strength.

Rocky, that is the high levels of nicotine found in cuban tobacco. The 1492 series of Cohiba is usually a milder smoke but if you did not build your tolerance, you will get the bad side affects of a nicotine poisoning. Nicotine poisoning is usually accompanied with symptoms of the chills, sweating, and nausea. My first habano was a Monti 2. It knocked my socks off. I was on the 2nd hole on a par 5 course heaving behind a tree. lol.
