First of all a big thanks to Al@Perdomo for gifting me a sampler to try after I had some bad things to say about Perdomo. As you will see I kinda changed my mine

. I will review the rest out of the sampler as I have time. Thanks Big Al!

Perdomo Reserve "P" Cameroon - 5 1/2 x 55
Appearance and Construction (13 of 15 points possible)
A big chunky solid feeling Perfecto, the wrpper is a milk chocolate brown and oily with a slight reddish hue to it in the sunlight. Slight vein and the cap is decent. I have always like the Perdomo Reserve bands; nice, classy and the colors always accent the wrappers well. Nice presentation.
Flavor (22 of 25 points possible)
First couple of draws reveal that sweet, spicy cameroon wrapper along with wood, cocoa and leather. Notes of cinnamon on the finish come and go. A 1/4 of the way down and the complexity and flavors pick up a bit. The cigar is smooth with French Vanilla Coffea, leather, earth and just a touch of spice on the end of the finish. The French vanilla Coffea flavor is a first for me,its an intermingling of the coffea and slight vanilla hints Im picking up so far. This is a medium sometimes medium full bodied smoke that at just about 1/3rd way in has all of my attention! At halfway I'm still getting the sweetness of the Cameroon wrapper along with a core of flavors that now consist of the french vanilla coffea, earth spice and more of a leather taste on the finish. A little toastiness comes and goes from time to time also at this stage of the smoke. At 3/4 a way through the vanilla has disappeared but the cigar still has Coffea (more of a dark roast flavor), leather, spice and a certain nuttiness. With one inch left the cigar is full of flavor but has a little sharpness to it, Im sure with some more age this will go away. The flavors finish up as follows, sweet wood followed by coffea, earth and a leathery sweetness on the finish. I put it out at 3/4 and inch left.
Smoking Characteristics (23 of 25 points possible)
At clip and light the draw was right on the money producing loads of thick smoke. The aroma of this cigar is nice, the tobacco notes resonate fresh baked cake and toasted nuts playing along with accents of leather. I cant get enought of the way this cigar smells. Mmmm, Mmmm! The ash was somewhat flakey but hung on for two inches before I knocked it off. The texture of the ash was powdery, with a salt and pepper color. The band was glued on just right and came off easily withou a hitch. The burn started out a little crooked on the perfecto tip, but once past it the stogie burned razor sharp all the way till the end.
Overall Impression (32 of 35 points possible)
This cigar really took me by surprize, 5 to 6 months settling did wonders on this cigar. It was solid medium to medium full at times with good complexity through out. These are pricey smokes at around 100 a box (depending of Vitola) but well worth it if this is your flavor profile preference. If your a Cameroon Lover (or not) you have to at least try this one once, make sure you let it settle to get its full potential though. Its a little more bolder and richer that most Cammies out there but if you like others such as the Don Carlos, Torano 1916, and FDO Gran Cameroon, Im sure you will enjoy this one as well. This is the best buning and most complex Perdomo I have had to date. I took my time and really enjoyed this one. I have one more and will try to leave it alone for another 6 months. Im sure it will blow me away with a year on it. If it makes it

. Perdomo has definitly improved upon their cigars IMO.
Thanks Al.
