I’ve said before that I can appreciate flat press cigars because they don’t roll away on the moving Lido Deck, but I still feel like I’m smoking a Lego piece. I have to say, though, for a Lego this was a decent smoke.

This cigar is made in one size only, a 6”x52 Toro with an ultra-sharp box-press. The RP I-Press is a Cuban-seed mixture of Nicaraguan long-fillers inside an earthy Honduran binder. On the outside, a dark broadleaf maduro. I didn’t get much complexity out of this cigar, with just a hint of spice, but it was pleasant enough and improved toward the end. Burn and draw were good. I might keep one of these in my travel humidor for my next cruise, but I can’t see smoking one on land. I’ve met a few serious RP fans, but I don’t think this one will win any converts. As a Lego I give it an 89, but as a cigar it gets only a 79.

Sad to hear this. Someone passed me one of these in the Lotto and I was hoping it would suprise me like the decades have... Sounds like that's a no.

That's the best thing to do. Tastes rang a lot. I tried my first Ashton VSG the other day, and i really didn't like it. it went really bitter on me right away. Now go find all the reviews for this cigar saying how great it is! Give it a shot, you never know with RP.

I recall someone here felt the Decade was over-hyped, but I'm with you -- very good RP.

I had an I-Press with very little expectations gong into it, as I do with a lot of RPs stuff. The first third was actually very nice, got some thick cacao (not cocoa) notes as well as a caramel sweetness. That quickly dissipated into some harsh muted flavors though.

May I suggest that you get rid od that sophomoric unoriginal nickname. I`m sure stud fits right in somewhere but not here.

I typically am a big RP fan (see logo to your left Wink)... I have not tried the I-Press yet, but I find that his blends are great, his construction is not always the best, and this could be an example of that. That being said, I also felt the Decade was getting too much hype. I like it, but I think that he makes several other smokes that are equal for 1/2 the price (Several wrapper/sizes of Old World Reserve, my all time day-to-day fave the Sungrown Torpedo)

I liked it a little more than you did but I do agree, it didn't blow me away. I really like RP's but this one was just ok. That is all, just ok. I am a huge fan of his fusion cigars, they are complex and full of great flavors! That and a RP vintage 1992 is just one of those go to cigars!

The I-Press is a great tasting cigar. I bought a box of them for a buddy of mine and we both tried them for the first time, and they pleasantly surprised us. Now the I-Press is probably one of the favorite smokes. Great flavor...not sure where you had a problem with them.

RP have a few good cigars (Decade, winter blend, OWR, Sun growns are up and down), and a few smokable ones (summer blend, vintage 1990&1992) But the rest of his stuff is just bad. But thanks for the review.

Of the Vintage 1990 and 1992 for me the Vintage 92 is the only one smokable to me. I have never had a bad smoke from the Vintage 92 line. The edge one was to strong for me. I want to get a summer blend RP.
