This evening I had one of these cigars out of a 5 pack I recently obtained. The cigar was perfectly constructed. It burned perfectly from start to finish. I was able to distinguish cocoa flavor throughout the cigar and quite a bit of spiciness. The cigar gained more power as I smoked the cigar slowly. There were no burn issues and the cigar was a pleasure to smoke since I had a full stomach after dinner. I plan to let the rest of these rest a bit longer and see if they continue to be an outstanding cigar with more age on them. I definitely would smoke these again based on my experience tonight. These are a powerful smoke with lots of power and flavor. I would give the cigar a solid 94 rating based on my experience. For the price I was able to obtain these 5 packs at it was an excellent cigar.
There's no such thing as a maduro JdN -- they're only available in dark, natural EMS. I've actually smoked a couple Lanceros I put aside about a year ago and they were excellent. Still very strong, though...I wish they could dial down the nicotine content without sacrificing the great flavor. I've tried the Celebracion line and it's just not the same (and still quite strong in "kick.")
Extension thank you for correcting me that these are not maduro. I'm still learning and I thought with the dark wrapper it had to be Maduro. These are a strong little cigar. They do pack a punch and should most definitely be smoked on a full stomach. I could not smoke these if I didn't have a full stomach or I'd be sick as a dog.
Try the Celebracion and let us know what you think. It's supposedly milder than the Antano but it has the same filler content as the Antano, with the only difference being a lighter, less oily wrapper selected by Manuel Quesada. Both of them make my fingers numb, but the flavor is excellent.
I have a Celebration here in my humidor that I've been aging for quite some time. It might be time to break it out tonight after dinner. Either way when I do smoke it I will let you know what I think.
I have a box of Gran Consuls that I'm sitting on. Talk about a strong, in your face smoke. You have to make sure your on a full belly before sparking one of these bad boys up.

I recently purchased a box of these they have great flavor and strength but, I dont care for the draw, Hardly any smoke with a tight draw. I am going to let these sit for a while hopefully they will improve

The lancero was shown at RTDA. I'm reading the August 22 Cigar Insider now, and it mentiones the size being introduced: 7 1/2 by 38, $4.75. I think it hit the market in September. They're strong and good.

Am working my way thru a box of Gran Consuls. Extremely tight draw on all of them, and makes them a project to smoke. The wrapper adds some zing to the cigar, but on the whole, to me it lacks body.

Scott, I have had some at 59/60 RH for over a month with no improvement. I thought drying out a bit would help, but not so. Think I will try the consul size, I like them in the regular JDN line, and draw is good on them.

I have to say, the draw on the Lancero is perfect which is kind of surprising...of all the vitolas that you'd think would be tight, it would be this one.
