I've heard a lot about these cigars lately so I figured it was about time I try one. Personally, I think it tasted like what I feel burning maple leaves would. Anyone agree/disagree?

This is one of those cigars that when

all the planets are aligned, it smokes well for the price.

At a dollar each, it's decent.

thet're crappy short-filler cigars... the La Vieja Habana: the early years are supposed to be all long-filler, pre-aged, and much better tasting.

To clarify, in my mind, burning maple leaves taste terrible.

..trying to keep one lit. I do have to be fair and admit that my humidor RH had crept up to 75 percent. That ain't helping!

For a buck, it's hard to complain. They do LOOK good, have a nice wrapper, and the flavor isn't too bad. Quality varies from stick to stick. Some are pretty good, others are not so hot.

I've actually had good luck with these.
$1 a stick? You can't expect or bitch too much.

I find they're good when you either cant really sit back and enjoy a smoke or when you may have to suddenyl stomp it out because you gotta do soemthing.

I had a pre-release Early years, and I though they were very good. I'll get a box when they come out. It will be the first box of Drew estate I own.

If you cut the La Vieja open you will notice it is mostly long fill. there was very little short fill in it. I would smoke a free one if I had nothing else.

I am not a rich man and can not afford expensive everyday cigars. I discovered the La Vieja Habana Rothschild Luxo not long ago and for the price I have not found a better cigar. It has become my everyday smoke. I have found it a bit stemmy and sometimes I get one that is not firm enough but like I stated before its the best one dollar cigar I have found.

I think they sometimes can be hit or miss, but generally they are a very good value for the price. I personally like the flavor... burnt maple leaves??? Wink
