A new offering by Bahia. The Icon has a smooth, dark brown wrapper, and is firmly rolled.
Pre-light aroma was faint and slightly nutty. Pre-light draw was tight, requiring a second cut about 1/4 inch deeper than I would have liked. This second cut loosened up the draw some, but it remained on the tight side. Pre-light flavor offered hints of pepper.
The cigar lit a little reluctantly, and after lighting, it was difficult to draw any smoke at all. Once lit, however, the cigar burned evenly and required correction only once, about 1/2 way through.
When the cigar finally began producing a good quantity of smoke, the initial flavor was cream, and toasty nuts, but this quickly gave way to a peppery spice and a cedar finish.
As the cigar warmed, the draw eventually became unacceptably tight. Spice and cedar became stronger through the middle of the cigar, but oddly seemed to taper off in the final third.
Overall, this is a good cigar, but I do not think it is distinctive enough, or offers enough in the way of flavor to justify humidor space in place of similarly priced items from Fuente, Ashton, and Padron.
