Gurkha is made by Torano for Kaiser Hansotia. There is a lot of markup in the MSRP -- when you buy a $15 Gurkha, you're really getting a $5 cigar with Torano's markup, Gurkha's markup (which is a substantial margin and then there's the cost of all that fancy packaging too) and then finally a 100% markup at the retail level. They're grossly overpriced but the good news is, (a) Torano makes very good cigars and (b) You probably got them at far less than MSRP.
The Gurkha line ranges from decent to very good depending on the line, and the Legend line falls somewhere near the top of the range if I remember corectly. Not a bad cigar at all for the right price.
For what it's worth, I did a search and CA has scored these between 86-89.
About 6 months ago I went crazy on C-Bid bidding on about everything in sight. I'm in addiction recovery now but did walk away with alot of cigars from Gurkha.
My experience has been that they are very good cigars, but I agree that they are not worth the price of MSRP. Some of the blends have a unique taste that is different from most the NC sticks out there.
Some of my favorites have been the Grand Age and Anniversary perfectos. Great looking smokes that you can find on C-Bid for a few dollars a stick.
