I bought a box blind based on some reviews and this is the review of my first Gran Habano. Just got these in the other day so this review is almost straight out of the box.

Appearance and construction - 13/15
The wrapper is pretty dark. If I didn't know better I would have guessed this was a maduro. There are a couple small veins but the wrapper is mostly smooth and shiny with uniform color. The construction is solid. There is little or no give when I squeeze it and it feels pretty heavy. The clip is clean. The double bands are taking up a lot of room so I take them off. There is no glue on the cigar wrapper and the bands pop off with no ripping involved. So far so good.

Flavor 20/25
FULLLL flavored is the term for this cigar. This one is packed with rich chocolate, coffee, nuts and even some pepper. The finish is very long and decadent. I could have sworn this cigar is a natural but It tastes like a maduro to me. At times it was a little too sweet. The aroma is killer. I am really enjoying the smell of the smoke as it swirls in the sunlight and rolls lazily out my office window. It isn't very complex. Actually, It reminds me very much of a padron maduro with good consistent flavor from start to finish.

Smoking characteristics 20/25
The burn was slightly uneven. The ash was a little flakey. The smoke volume was enormous. The strength is on par with some of the stronger N/C's but there is a good balance of strength to flavor.

Overall 33/35
It is incredibly rich and flavorful but seems a little unrefined at this point. Maybe with some age it will calm down and reach greatness. I would recommend it to anyone who likes padron maduros or LGC serie R maduros.

Thanks guys. Smokie - I was smoking in my office at home. I don't think they would appreciate the cigar smoke at work. To answer your question on price, I think they are really cheap. I think I paid somewhere around 70 for the box of pyramids and the robustos are somewhere around 60. They are a steal at that price.

The first time I smoked one, the aroma was very memorable. You won't smoke one of these and think of another NC like it.

Plus they are cheap as hell. 50-70 covers all the sizes.

As far as NCs go, probably nothing else you don't already know about.

Smoked one of these last night PMP, the local shop near me has some and I decided to pay their gauging prices to try one. It was a fine smoke, I found coffee and chocolate flavors to be very pronounced with a hint of pepper on the finish. I'd like to get a few to keep in my humi. Thanks for the reccomendation.

Just got a box of these in the mail today, they're a really good smoke for the price. I'd do a review after a few more have been smoked but Pmp pretty much summed it up. If I have anything to add I'll write one up.

I was gonna update my review by saying that after having a few more I still think they are very box worthy. Some are awesome and some are just OK but they good ones are REALLY good.

I got a couple in today, thanks to PMP . Im sticking one in the humi for some good rest time. The other I just burned down, couldnt stand the anticipation. It was ok and a little incosistent, not very complex and it got a little boring. It could be a hit or miss stick but I did smoke it early. I'll let the other hibernate a bit and then report back. It does seem to have some potential.

I got a little cilantro undertones every once in a while, did you ever pic this up PMP?
Oh, thanks for the sticks. I'll be dropping a bomb on you in a week or so.

I never noticed any cilantro stogie but I did notice some inconsistency between sticks.

I received a couple as well. If I get some sun this weekend, I'm burning one down. Thanks again PMP.

Heh, well I never said they were good.

I just thought the aroma was great and quite distinct.

I just got back form the cigar shop and purchased two of the pyramids. At $4.09 a stick, I can't wait to try one of these. I was actually looking for the Torano Tributes but my guy didn't have any. So I was just looking around and the Gran Habano caught my eyes. Then I remembered about this review. Thanks pmpimb.
