The Signature was my first box purchase, split it with a friend. My only regret is not buying the whole box myself. This cigar (even with some recent construction issues) is a great smoke. The flavor just keeps building until you find your fingers on fire . I will always keep a bunch of these in the humi.
After reading quite a bit about the Fuente Hemmingway cigars, so I decided to pick one up at a local store. I thought the cigar looked very good- love the nipple end. Nice dark brown wrapper, a fairly noticeable vein in the binder, and intresting large to smaller ring gauge- very nice looking cigar.
The pre-light was fairly uneventful; no uncharacteristic or unexpected smells or tastes through the cigar. I was a bit shocked at the sweetness of the wrapper- not unpleasant, just not expected.
The cigar had a deep, mellow taste - characteristic coffee and dark wood notes, and a deep, very faint caramel sweetness. I enjoyed this smoke a lot. The spice increased ever so slightly about 1/2" into the cigar.
This little cigar had a high volume of tasty smoke. The draw was a bit tight, but not unsmokable by any means. The next one I smoke, because I am certain tio smoke more, I will cut with a larger opening to get a better draw.
All in all, a tasty, brief smoke. Well worth the $4.50 or so I paid for the cigar.

I love this cigar. This is a great cigar I just wish they made it a little bigger because just when I start to feel nirvana....I practically burn my fingers because the smoke is almost all gone.

The Hemmingway Work of Art or Fuente Best Seller are the same shape and are a bit bigger. The WOA being the biggest of the three. Both are fantastic smokes. Definately worth trying if you want something a bit bigger than the Short Story.
I ventured away from the Hemingway line, until I fired a Signature up at "The Shop" Saturday morning. I only wanted a taste, and now I'm hooked again. I highly recommend these smokes.

Me too. Then at a cigar dinner last week, we got Hemingway Signatures and they were great. I also somehow got away from the Don Carlos line, which I used to love. There are just too many good cigars out there right now.
I think the Fuente Short Storey is a pretty pedestrian smoke. For a short smoke, try a Punch Rothschild, and see if you would buy another Short Storey. Different smokes though, the Punch is a stronger Honduran, but still better than the Fuente IMHO.

Looove all the Hemingways, great sticks all. But it is amazing how much flavor is packed into the stubby little short story. I always keep some around for short smokes.

The short story marked my entry into the fuente line. I sat on my patio and continued to be amazed at the flavor transitions. This is a beautiful smoke, well constructed, unique size/shape, easy light, good burn, great flavor. Heck, what else do you look for in a cigar. I wish all of the sticks in my humi were as exciting as the SS. I have since purchased and smoked others in the EF line and they are all good.
I think there is something special about the short story though. The larger sizes do take longer to reach their peak, and the SS is right to the point.

Thanks for the great info!!! I loved the Fuente Churchill I tried a few weeks back & am looking for a shorter smoke... I will definitely give the short story a try.
