Was at a family gathering tonight (we all know how fun those can be) but was able to sneak away from the fam, and find a room with a TV and my Short Story.

Haven't had this little guy in some time and what a delight it was to light it up again and feel the smooth Fuente Hemingway flavor. The burn was perfect, rolled nice and tight. Construction was the usuall impecable Fuente job.

And as for the flavor, what can you say. Started of simple and smooth. As the ash began to form, the flavor really started to come through, notes of cedar and coffee were felt. Next came the nuts and a bit of spiciness. Didn't want to put this one down, but had to when I started burning my fingers.

Overall, a great 45 min break from hectics of family. I'd suggest trying some tea or coffee while smoking this cigar, and a piece of dark chocolate, you'll be surprised new height of the flavor.

One of my favorite quick smokes. I usually have one in the morning with coffee on days that I don't have to go into the office.

When clipped right this smoke will light perfectly every time.

I have never had a bad one and I have smoked many boxes of Hemingway Short Stories.

It's been a while since I smoked one of these;I was sitting in the car at the park on a rainy day.
Of all the Fuente efforts I enjoy this little cigar second only to the Ashton VSG.

I just picked up my first Short Story and my first Best Seller at my local tobacconist. I am looking VERY forward to lighting these up. One of them will definitely meet its end this afternoon!

Thanks for getting me lured into these by your rave reviews!

I just finished my first box of Fuente Seleccion Privada #1, at first I didn't like the ending flavor but as I learned to smoke this jewel, it grew on me and I wanted more, cedar, cedar cedar, and the best thing about them is I paid only $78.00 on the net. Thank you Jesus!!

I just got a box of the Fuente Best Sellers. I heard they are just as good, so I am looking forward to them. Haven't smoked one yet. What's wrong with me?

I finally had my short story yesterday morning. I sat on the back patio with a cup of coffee, some dark chocolate, and the paper. I relaxed and enjoyed the Short Story.

WOW! This thing IS packed with power. I really enjoyed this lil' guy. Can hardly wait to try my Best Seller, too. The coffee and chocolate complimented the flavor of the cigar tremendously!! I was very happy!

Doc- What is your definition of "clipped right" in regards to the Short Story?

I just picked a few up and don't want to ruin any.

Jim, I don't know about Doc, but when I clip the head of an SS I clip it just a tad wider than you think you should. That's because of the shape. You are drawing an almost 50 ring guage foot through a 40 something ring head. It can be a bit tight, especially since the foot is closed and won't draw much initially. This basically goes for all prefecto shaped cigars (obsequios, diademas, etc.)

with all y'all talking up this little bitty so much, i feel like i need to give her a second chance. last time i had one i found it to be smooth and creamy, but nothing else. well, it wasn't a bad flavor, so hell, i'll just go pick one up and give her a second ride.

Just had my first Short Story. I bought a box the week of Thanksgiving and finally had a nice enough day to go for a walk after lunch and try one. I read the posts and probably don't have much to add that already hasn't been said. This is a great cigar. My palate isn't developed enought to detect an array of flavors, but it was a smooth, truly medium bodied smoke. The draw was firm, it burned nice and slow, it produced a tremendous amount of tasty smoke. Nothing sweet or sour about it. The finish lasts a bit and I'm detecting interesting flavors that I don't know how to describe. This is one of the best NC I've had. I highly recommend it and I'll always have a box of these on hand.

Bravo AF!

Peace.

Had my first yesterday on a break from work -- it was great! I enjoyed it so much I took off the band so I could smoke more of it. I would've used a roach clip to smoke it even further, but I had to get back to the office by then. It surprised me how long it lasted (45 min.)considering that it was smaller the the robustos I usually smoke for the same amount of time.
