Had my first one of these tonight. I managed to let it sit for about 2 months. Loved it. Lots of richness without being bitter. Toward the end when I thought it was going to get harsh, it developed a lot of really earthy coffee type flavors and went on to be a knuckle burner. I will be getting some more. Anybody else like these ? This was about a 54 x 6 or so. Forget the exact type.

You may be talking about the Rancho size. Those are great. Nice fat flavorful stogies. You gotta give em that 2 months though or they are pretty harsh.
The first one I bought just to experiment and try something new to get a feel for what was out there.
And I loved it. It was my second highest rated cigar.
Then I went out for a night with my brother to a cigar bar, and I bought a PGP for the evening. It was the most dank smelling, bitter, sour piece of garbage I'd ever smoked. And I bought both from the same tobacconist, and from the same box.
So, unless I'm really unlucky and picked up a rotten apple, I find the Punch Gran Puro to be rather inconsistent.

My experience is the same. I had one today and was not impressed given all that I've heard about the cigar. It has been in my box since the first week of June. It was bitter and harsh at times. Lots of smoke... which I like in gar .... but I had less than 10 puffs where I could actually get a decent taste... the rest was like smoking hay.... I was quite un-impressed. I have another one... might let it sit for another couple months and give it another shot. However, the one I had left much to be desired.
Maybe I need to get some more and let them sit a while, but The few I've tried have all been let downs. Not that they were bad, they burned well and I got a lot of smoke, but they were not what I was looking for in the richness mentioned. Personally I preferred a plain old Punch toro Maduro to these, but I will try again.
A Rancho was given to me about six months ago and I smoked it yesterday. I loved it. I went out and bought a box today. I'm going to take the advice and let them sit a bit. As I said , the one I smoked sat about six months and it smoked like a dream.
Bought a couple of PGPs (the Pico Bonito, I believe) about 2-3 years back to give them a try -- a few months after they came out. Smoked one and wasn't impressed at all: unremarkable, a bit bitter, unidimensional...
The other one has been sitting in the humi ever since. Might smoke it this summer to see if age has improved it, but I don't expect much...
I got a 5 pack of them a few months ago. I really enjoyed them and will get some more. The first one I had was right out of the pack when it arrived and smoked great.
