Has anyone tried one of these? I'm thinking about getting a few of these and I haven't head much about them on the forums. So if you've had one post your opinions.

i got a box about 6 months ago.. tried on, and found it too be very young.. no pronounced flavours.. a bit harsh even... IMO, at least a year of aging is necesary... I know I won't be smoking the remainder of the box before at least next year....
salibas, minalpharetta, have either of you tried another short since posting this? I have some that are nearing six months and I'm wondering where yours ended up going...

As a matter of fact, yes, I had one a couple of weeks ago and they have improved considerably. Although I'm not really good with descriptors, this cigar has developed a nice, slightly sweet woody/nutty flavor note. The harshness that I experienced back in '06 when I got them (sorry, I have a bunch of tubos 3-packs that I got in late summer of that year, so no box code for you) has disappeared.
Excellent, based on that I think I'll let mine sleep awhile longer. Thanks, man!

Like the churchill it really divides opinion. I've had a few tubos and found them rather bland, medium bodied. Nothing to write home about.
But I have heard it said by very knowlagable people that the first couple of years' production COULD become classics. Personally I've seen little to make me think this. But I've not had many.

Ive had two short churchills and found both of them to be quite bland, young and unfortunately harsh. This was disapointing as I hold the RyJ Churchill in very high regard.
Based on my experiences with them Id be more inclined to buy one of the many other proven robustos out there for the same price like a petit edmundo or RASS.

Speaking of the Short Churchill, I smoked one last night, and to my surprise, despite all the obstacles, I liked it.
First obstacle, I have a poor image of RyJ having never liked the Escudos or the Exhibicion #4. Second obstacle, the cigar burned horribly while nearly going out a few times. This is partly my fault on a poor light under the impression from an earlier experiment where a poor light on a CC will eventually even out, well it didn't.
All I can say about the flavors is that it is rich, complex, and smooth. I spent most of the time over-puffing and relighting to keep the cigar going, so I did not pay too much attention to anything else. With that said, the cigar did not get harsh on me nor did it make me pass out (due to all the puffing). That's all on this cigar for now. I'll be sure to give it a good light the next time and form a better evaluation.

Hello everyone. I am new to the cigar world. Could anyone recommend a few good cigars for a beginner to enjoy? Perhaps a mild cigar for starters. I appreciate your input.

I've had a Short Churchill two weeks ago, I can't say I liked it that much but it wasn't bad at all. I liked the Monte Edmundo a lot more though. The most notable thing about it was the TONS of smoke it produced, I always like my cigars to produce lots of smoke.
