So today I had the day off from everything, so I went to the local and shared some good conversation and smoked this cigar. So here is what I thought about it.
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Honduran and Nicaraguan
Appearance: The wrapper of this cigar is a bit rough and coarse. Some of the veins are showing, but nothing serious. Nothing that I would consider too bad. Rating: 12/15
Draw/Burn: The draw and burn on this cigar were absolutely perfect. Each puff on this cigar was a perfect mouthful. The burn also stayed flawless the entire time that I smoked this cigar. Never had to relight the cigar, and ashed it twice the whole time, and I smoked it to the nub. 24/25
Taste: The flavors of this cigar are not that complex. However these flavors are quite tasty. There is a perfect balance though of the flavors that this cigar possessed. A really cedar woody flavor, that was very creamy with some vanilla in it. The vanilla and creamy flavors only came more present as the cigar smoked. That was really it on the flavors though. 20/25
Overall Impression: I really did not know what to expect with this cigar. It was my first Por Larranaga and my third of the four Cabinet Selection cigars.(Romeo and Juliet, Por Larranaga, Montecristo, H. Upmann). So far it was the best one that I have had. I did not have terribly high hopes for the cigar, so it was kind of surprising that I enjoyed it so much. The aroma of this cigar was a floral aroma, that was amazing. I found myself blowing out the smoke, and then sniffing the cigar pretty much every time. To me this cigar would be a perfect morning smoke. A cup of coffee would compliment this cigar perfectly IMO. I would have this cigar again with coffee on a nice sunny Sunday morning. 30/35
Total Rating: 86/100

I smoked one about 5-6 weeks ago and I think you're pretty much dead on with this cigar. I would have liked for it to have more complexity to it and the cedar flavor was definitely the predominant flavor. I started to pick up some of the vanilla cream notes around a third of the way through. All in all, not a bad smoke, I would like to see how it develops with some age.

Definitely, the PL is the only one of the 4 cabinets that I've smoked. I'd like to hear your comments on the others too. I've also smoked the new Trinidad EL and not a bad smoke, but a bit pricier.
