Oldie but a goodie.
Appearance and construction 13/15
I don't like the extreme box press too much but it was well put together. The wrapper was beautiful, definitely up to CAO standards. The clip was perfect. I double V-clipped it in the shape of a cross just for something different.
Flavor 20/25
Could have been stronger. It had a nice medium profile with strong black coffee citrus, and lots of pepper. It was a good smooth well balanced smoke with a little kick, from the pepper. The finish was brief but good. The secondhand smoke is caustic with this one. I smoked it inside while I was cooking. I should have smoked it outside.
Smoking characteristics 23/25
Not as strong as I had hoped but a good medium smoke. The burn was even. The ash was firm and stayed put for a good inch or two. It got a little bitter toward the very tail end.
Overall 31/35
Thanks to Andy for sending this one my way. I would definitely smoke this again although I don't think I'll run out any buy a box. It was a nice change of pace. I wouldn't recommend this for a maduro fan. It is definitely more geared toward fanatics of natural cigars. I'm kinda burnt out on sweet chocolately maduros lately so this hit the spot.
