Today i smoked the partagas serie d #4 reserva. This is probably the best cigar i have ever smoked. I have had this cigar before and it was amazing but this one was just out of this world...

Pre light

This cigar had a gorgeous smell of cinnamon mixed with very sweet tobacco. The cold draw brought out flavors of Cinnamon and clove. such a wonderful taste i didn't even want to light it. The draw was perfect, just a touch of resistance.

1/3

This cigar actually started off a bit weaker than i expected. It really just tasted like a regular young psd #4. it was weird. It had all the creamy flavors of a psd #4 but it was a bit harsh. This only lasted a few puffs and the cigar took on a whole new profile. I was hit hard with lots of cream and Mellow woody flavors with just the right amount of spice. It had all the flavors of a psd #4 with some age on it.

2/3

The cigar just kept going, the flavors progressed into even more cream. Oak, cedar, nutmeg, and clove changing back and forth with every puff, it was simply amazing, the smoke was like velvet on my tongue, i felt like i was chewing the smoke. the finish was so long, the flavors just lingered on my palate forever. the burn was razor sharp and The ash held firm up to the reserva band.

3/3

This smoke refused to let up! The smoke stayed nice and cool, leaving my mouth moist after ever draw. The flavors evolved into a beautiful creamy climax. It was like buttered toast with cinnamon. It literally made my mouth tingle, like when you have eaten something so good and sweet. During this last bit the oak, clove and spice stayed in the background making this such a complex smoke. I didn't want to let this smoke go. I was cursing at the fact that this is a robusto. I would easily rate this cigar in the high 90's. 95-96 easily. it's by far the best cigar i have ever had. it was a experience i will never forget, thats for sure. check out the photos...

Great review Lilo. I've smoked many a Serie D No. 4 but never had the pleasure of smoking a reserva. I was able to live vicariously through that review, so thank you very much.

F.U. Steve. Yes, I am hating. Nice review! I'd like to say I can't wait to try one but I'm pretty sure that's an impossibility. Glad you enjoyed it, it looks gorgeous! I wanted to sniff the screen

Yum! Seems like the ash was holding up quite well. Really outstanding review, 2000?

Great review Lilo.
I would have to take off 3 points for that large vein and give it a score of only 92. Wink

haha, i know! that is one hell of a vein. It looks like they took two leaves and stitched them together! That aside, this smoke was absolutely perfect.

And too think that I have been giving these away to clients and friends in the past 4 years. I have one left, maybe I will try it later this fall.
