(5 x 44) This was my first time trying the Montecristo Afrique blend. I thought it was medium bodied, the draw just ok, and it burned even all the way down. The taste in my opinion was not good at all. From start to finish it had a heavy pepper taste to it that made it rough to smoke. I was waiting for the Afrique to smooth out, but it never happened. Not worth trying or a favorite.

I have a friend (and you know who you are), that loves those things. There is something about it that just doesn't sit well with me either. With a year or two of age I think it would mellow out but it's not that great straight out of the box.

hey corona try these again, in a larger ring gauge, and with a little resting time. these are really a good smoke, imo, and I haven't had any draw or construction issues with these. also several people and myself included find these have a blueberry taste to them...maybe you got hold of a bad one.

Smokum,

Next time I have a bigger ring size, I'll let it sit some before smoking.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Good review corona. I have heard mixed things about these.

hey Smokum, the only time I have ever tasted blueberry in a cigar was in a Gurkha Regent Toro that was aged over a year. It was one of the wierdest tastes I have had in a cigar IMO.

this was actually a good thing...there were several on this board who experienced this blueberry taste, and some posting to this extent a while back. Big Grin
