(6 x 52) This was my first time trying the Chisel shape. I cut it the recommended way, which was to whole punch it on the top part of the Chisel head. It felt funny in my mouth, and was not letting a lot of smoke out. After a few minutes I just cut the entire Chisel part off. I thought the Double Ligero blend was medium bodied, it had an ok draw to it, and burned even all the down. The taste was not overpowering at all and gave off a slight pepper flavor. Worth trying but not a favorite.

i smoked one of these, and i punched the top of the chisel and the bottom, so the smoke cam out both sides and i got a great deal of smoke out of it. i liked this cigar alot, its unique shape made it a fun smoking experience.
this is an awesome cigar, i punch it the way jadawin descibes, it gives off and awesome amount of smoke this way, and it does feel weird in the mouth initially...i have one cigar left from a box that is about a year and half old, and they have aged beautifully, i will have to get another box...

I loathe punches, I just cut the very tip off. I love these cigars.

People aren't smoking cigars to be trendy, cool or stylish. They're smoking cigars because they like them. Because they enjoy the experience. Because for about $5 they can spend an hour sampling one of life's greatest luxuries. -David Savona

Sobek, how does a cc whore like you sample so many nc's? For a guy who hates them you sure seem to smoke a lot of them. (I put the wink in to avoid a flame war 'cause I've never had a Chisel, have no desire to try a chisel, and probably will never ever sample a chisel. Just wonderin' how you came across one.Do you just grab an NC from time to time to remind yourself they all suck?)
Peace.

With the exception of one I had that was aged a year or so, they are pretty flavorless IMO. The ligero series is slightly better but still pretty bland. They are strong but not even as much flavor as an antano. But if you want power, thats the one.

Up until a year or so ago I gave most NC's a shot, once or twice. I tried the chisel because when it first came out, it was touted as so strong that it was making people sick as hell...so no way I was going to pass that up.
Like most people who gradually switch to all CC, I was still smoking a few NC's sprinkled here and there all the way until about last year. I even recommended a few the past couple years...granted "few" being the key word. I was one of those guys who wanted for a long time to believe that NC's were really catching up and not that far behind...so I would continue to sample new NC's hoping for somethign enjoyable. Eventually i just gave up.
I've bashed a few cc's as well, so I'm not totally biased.
Well I am NOT a CC-Only smoker and I don't like the Chisel either. For me it doesn't have any real flavor or depth, it is just all brute strength. I like most other LFD's though, the 2000 and Reserva lines being my favs. The Diez is also good, but a bit over-priced in my book.
BTW, I have cut all the Chisels I have smoked with my Palio (guiilotine) and they still didn't produce the volume of smoke I felt they should. I tried the punch trick with my first Chisel and it wasn't enough draw so I ended up snipping it with only marginally better results.
well i agree with you if you're talking about young chisels, they are pretty one diminsional...but with a little settling time these are pretty dang good, imo they are as good as jdn antanos, and any other ligero series from LFD...but maybe it's just me...

To be honest, I'd rather have a box of Anatnos over a box of chisels any day. Add a year of age and the Antanos still win, with the Gran Consul being my fav.

How about a Chisel shaped Anatno?
na...i'll take the shape of gran consul over the chisel shape anytime...
