Recently I smoked a couple of these NC El Rey Del Mundo. I have always been a fan of Frank Llaneza blends but this is superb in my opinion. Price point, $4.75 at a local here in New York is great.
The construction of the cigar is superb. A great looking cigar as it starts thin at the head and bulbs out to the foot, there for the name.
Semi oily with a nice sheen. Pre light draw is smooth with a nice sweet airy lightness to it.
Combustion is perfect and the first few draws have some very nice black pepper. Nothing overpowering mind you but your palet can detect it.
As it smokes, perfect burn and draw I might add, it realy mellows to show a nice cedary flavor with a well aged tobacco core that has a bit of honeyed wood to it.
All in all not very complex but great ballance none the less.
A NC that definatly should be tried.
JR's is having a special on Frank Llaneza cigars and I may grab a bunch.

I agree...
For me the Flor de Llaneza is one of the best NC's I've smoked. The trumpet you mention is the Flor de LaVonda named after Lew Rothman's wife; it is also a fine smoke along with the entire ERDM line.

Dont' sell yourself short Judge, you're a tremendous slouch!
