This line is already steeped in mystery. CI/CBid describes this as a product of the Toranos. The band itself says “K. Hansotia”, of Gurkha fame. Now we all know that Torano makes Gurkhas, but the funny thing is that they don’t make Castle Hall. Frank Santos said they do not make Castle Hall for Gurkha. So who does? Gurkha won’t reply to the Sprizz. But who cares? Let’s review the damn thing already…

Castle Hall (by K. Hansotia?) Churchill (7 x 52)

Appearance and construction 13/15

Very nice looking light brown wrapper. Very few large veins, soft and satiny to the touch. Good looking cap, took a punch well. Pre-light draw was just perfect. A couple spots on the wrapper. Looked like it was going to be a decent mild smoke.

Flavor 22/25

Yummy! This was so good I could eat it. Started off rich but smooth. Creaminess and sweet cedar abound! Hints of vanilla were detected as well. The flavor was good flavors present, just not a lot of them…

Smoking characteristics 22/25

Smoked very nicely. It is fairly new and it did not spend a lot of time in the humi but it burned nicely, just had some uneven spots. Lots of rich velvety smoke filled my mouth in each puff. The finish was short.

Overall 31/35

This, to me, tasted a lot like a K. Hansotia Symphony or Casa Torano (even though Torano doesn’t make them), just not a complex in flavor. Nice mild-medium bodied smoke. If you can get the em cheap, they are worth a try in my book.

Total 88

Why an 88 for a cigar that you need to buy at a discount? Just wondering but it sounds kinda high.

I guess I can see the confusion.
