JDN celebracion corona is typical corona size at 5.5 x 42. The construction and appearance are excellent. This cigar lit well and burned dead even all the way down. It lasted about 40 minutes and tasted great all the way to the nub. Excellent richness, strength and complexity all the way down. There is a core of earthy cedary flavors with hints of cocoa and espresso. Nice straight forward nicaraguan tobacco flavor. I give this cigar a 91 and that is straight out of the delivery box! The smaller ring guage does a lot to condense the flavors in this cigar without sacrificing too much smoke volume or getting hot. I liked this one slightly better than the torp althought it is a much quicker smoke. Overall, this is my new favorite for an everyday smoke. The price is just right on these at about 2.50 a piece. For anyone who is a fan of padron K series or the torano silver - try this you will like it.

Thanks. I almost picked up a box at a local shop, but they talked me out of it and I bought the JL Salazar y Hermanos Churchills instead. I've only smoked a couple but they're a typical medium bodied Nicaraguan cigar. Is it just me or are all Nic's a little fruity tasting? Must be the Sandanista's in the soil?

Peace.

It's my next box purchase, and I haven't even tried one. How do they compare with the Antano's. I hear they're a bit less potent. Similar flavor, less strength? Completely different flavor, less strength?

I do like Antano's quite a bit, but I wish they rolled a corona. The machito is pretty damn good, but a little short sometimes.

Yeah, my bottles of beer seem a little small as well. I'll try your approach. Smile

Thanks for the review PMP. I have been looking at these but haven't made the purchase yet. That will change as soon as I can get to the cigar store. For Stogie and Idesign - we solved the small beer bottle issue by placing 40 oz bottles of the "good stuff" nicely wrapped in a plain brown bag. Big Grin

I couldn't honestly say how they compare with the Antanos. I have only smoked one Antano. I remember it being much much stronger than the celebracion. Tomorrow I am going to pick up a few machitos and compare them side by side.

In response to the celebracion VS antano. The celebracion IMO is definitely not as strong and less earthy. It is more like a cross between an antano and a padron. A little of the antano strength and some definite nicaraguan sweetness make this one less intimidating than its older brother the 1970.
