Cigar: Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure #2 Date Purchased: 07 February, 2012 Source: Shlomo Cost: $0.00 Date Smoked: 28 February, 2012 Drink: Coffee, Pepsi Lime, MinuteMaid Grapefruit Notes: I chose this to smoke during the drive home from my brother's house. This was my first robusto, which came to me in a bomb from Shlomo. He likes to call it "payback"; I like to call it "how to get 4 cigars in exchange for two" but I'll let him think of it however he wants to. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7...et-72157628294213567 The Epi#2 gave me a nice mellow tobacco flavour. I struggled, as usual, to identify any particular flavours, but could not. Nonetheless, I was an enjoying the experience, and it was pairing well with the coffee. I still had at least half of the Trinidad Reyes from the aborted smoke with my brother yesterday. I had clipped it and stuck it into a tubo, and it occurred to me that I could do a "James Suckling" with it and the Hoyo, remembering the instance when James lit up a HdM Epi#2 and a PSD4 at the same time, and puffed on them alternately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qorulkgkJqs http://www.flickr.com/photos/7...t-72157628294213567/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/7...t-72157628294213567/ To be honest, I realized this was not a fair comparison, as the Reyes was a butt that had sit in my car all day yesterday and overnight (frozen). Since I was out of coffee, I stopped at a service station and picked up a Pepsi Lime and a MinuteMaid grapefruit. Not quite the same as the mojito James was drinking, but the closest I can come. As it turned out, I couldn't distinguish any difference between the two cigars, which maybe gives a dubious edge to the Reyes, given that it is a day old butt. The Hoyo went out about half way through, and I did not relight it. I enjoyed this cigar and will definitely try it again. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7...t-72157628294213567/

These cigars are an absolute blast, indeed, very mellow and mild power but with an amazing complexity to them. I love them!

Nice review! Nasty things happen when you put a half smoked cigar in a tube and save it for later. It probably messed up your taste buds for the Epi.

Did you take these photos? They look great. What kind of camera are you using? The description says "using an HTC-A510a."? I had to search "HTC-A510a". If so, I don't believe you. No pun intended. Are you serious? Most of these photos look like they were taken by a high end camera; almost!
