I have had a few of these in the past, beautiful looking sticks but pricey.

This one was no different. A good looking cigar; Light for an EL, with a single vein and a thick wrapper sticky with oils. Little aroma at cold. The initially lovely draw was present all the way through, and translated into a sharp burn, and no re-lights. Remained medium bodied throughout

1st 1/2
Lots of typical EL flavour coming from the wrapper, coffe and sweet chocolate but little of the normal spice. Pleasant enough, but I'm not absolutely crazy for this profile, and a good proportion of ELs seem to have it.

2nd 1/2
Bit by bit other flavours began to dribble through. Honey and cream came forward, followed by cedar and grass. These built up pushing the cocoa and coffee back. Going into the last third, this began to taste exactly how it should: like an esplendido on steroids, gone over to the dark side. Quite, quite brilliant.

Overall
The smoke was raging by the end. Very very good. If more age can even the flavour profile up in the first half, then the sky's the limit. For now though 84 ex 100.

Sup Did,

nice review. thanks. You know, this cigar has had me intrigued now for quite sometime. Just the look itself to me is worth the dough. saying that, it is pricey @ around $30+ a stick. WOW!! depends where your get it i suppose.

This stick is a definite MUST for me. i want to get a few of these bad boys and age one for the holidays. This is the only cohiba that i plan on purchasing any time soon.

Thanks again Did for the review.

You should definitely try one Fedor, especially knowing how into your piramides you are. They're really shaping up into something special, as many more experienced people than me have said.

They are expensive certainly but can still be had for just under $25 per stick in some places, and quite a few vendore have them at $270 for a box of ten, just not as sinlges. To get any less than a box now you're probably going to have to pay a bit of a premium, or go to a b&m in Europe.

Yes sir. i was planning on getting a box of 10. i found a source that has them, well a couple, but not sure of one of them. It does seem like they already are something special because my main 3 sources have been out of stock for awhile now. Hard to believe though that they will be better then my beloved Diplomaticos #2. Big Grin

again, thanks for the review buddy.

One from each box, with a range of dark and oily, to light maduro. Enjoy.

Good cigars, but just not that special to me personally. One thing I can't stand is the long aftertaste. When I'm done with a cigar, I don't want the taste to be in my mouth until the next morning, which is the case for this piramide.

Awesome review.
I've had a box of these for a while. I don't know why, but I just can't bring myself to smoke one. They look and smell great though;o)

Wow!... I'm amazed you hadn't tried these yet Sheep. I'd figured you must have tried dozens of them by now.
I think you'll dig them.
The one I had this past weekend was super smooooth.

I had my first one last week, and I think it's the best smoke I have had so far. Bought a box and will likely buy a couple more boxes once my Hutchador gets completed.
