Good review. http://www.top25cigar.com/a_apps/ANM/anmviewer.asp?a=510&z=4 A cigar is not bad just because you do not like it. Words to learn. Sorry, not a CAO rep, just from Nashville and know their story. Good quality smokes, marketed heavily. Good idea if ya ask me.
Sorry, the CAO vision does indeed suck, regardless of what kind of rating money can buy these days. Of course it is possible that the reviewers at CA are suffering from "palate-malfunction"... Maybe it is your opinion that they are good, then by all means smoke them, they'll be easy enough for you to find, demand for them is non-existent. I'm sorry, CA's ratings have little credibility after including the Macadoodoo's Hyde Park on a previous top 25.

My local B&M -- after previously refusing to carry the Vision because it sucked -- may finally succumb to pressure from their customers and grudgingly order a box.
Therefore, I may have to try another one to see if the CAO Vision does indeed still suck.

When I know, you'll know.
It's not as bad as the Startavarious! My B&M can't give them away. They're already selling them for half price and nobody is buying them.

I haven't smoked one but they smelled rank. A couple friends smoked some samples and said they were dog rockets. One owns a cigar store, the other is a rep for a prominent cigar manufacturer, so I trust their ability to evaluate cigars in the proper context. For instance, they might smoke a cigar and say "this is very good for people who like mild cigars, etc." But in this case, they just flat-out said it sucked.

You have to start your review with "consider the greatness of the CAO Vision."

I have yet to try the CAO vision, mostly because my B&M wants $20+ per stick for them. Regardless of actual quality, I think CAO doomed this cigar from the get-go with the neon glowing humidor packaging. Since the packaging plays a part in the B&M's cost of the box, that cost rolls down to the customer even though we don't get the box. Reminds me of Gurkha and their ridiculous packaging and overall markup. On a side note, the CAO Soprano and CAO Criollo are the only CAO products that I like.

More than that. My local B&M hates the built-in hygrometer. With people opening and closing their cabinet humidors hundreds of times each day, they're afraid the hygrometer will read "50%" or something and people will say, wait a minute, these cigars are under-humidified. I think that's a valid concern.
unfortunately I had bought a vision before I came across this forum. I was somewhat reluctant to smoke it but I paid $16. There was no way I was going to throw it out without trying it. I have been trying as many different cigars to become more familiar with cigars as a whole, mainly guided by CA's top 25. Shame on them. I could rant forever about how disapointed I was with this cigar but there is enough already said about this rip off. On the other hand I recently had a C.A.O. Soprano Associate. It was not at all disapointing.

I went to my local B&M a few weeks ago and told him of my disappointment in another CAO cigar and he said they smoke best after at least 6 months of age on them.
I can attest to the fact that the two CAO I bought (each different lines of the cigar) were not very good smoked straight from the B&M I bought them from. I may have to buy a few CAO and try to let them sit for 6 months and see if that improves them at all.

Ditto. This thread is quite entertaining, though.
