LOL! I have just seen this thread now, and apparently I have been missing some action. E-cord, haven't Savona contacted you one time before and asked you to stop the Vision bashing agenda you're on?? This is just hilarious. I bet they are distributing fliers with your picture and a bounty on your head over at the CAO HQ.

sorry but I am new to NC cigars and I am trying to figure out what to include in my next buy. I have been hearing a lot about this CAO Vision cigar, and saw it was in top 10 in the CA 2007 rating! I have been all through the 12 pages of this thread, have read all the posts meticulously and with great attention, but still cannot understand if this cigar is good or not. Even the title is very vague. Can you please help me?
The vision is a waste of money. The taste is not terribly bad but if you consider the price it is. On top of that the packaging is quite tacky. I would reccommend you save your money for something worthwhile (a few cheaper cigars or something worth $12- $15)
Just for fun, you all will be happy to know that Havana Connection here in Richmond has a Visions display at the register, and as I was checking out, I was asked to please try their "new favorite Cigar".
I saw all three sizes of these laying around in a local shop, retailing for about $9 for the robusto-sized one. I might eventually pick one up just to see for myself.
Apparently Tinderbox thinks these things suck too. Not having been to my local Tinderbox in quite a while, it was time to see what was new in stock. Opening the door to their humidor, the first thing I see directly in front of me is a sign: "buy 10 Visions, get the humidor for free."
So turning to the tobacconist who followed me in, "So, obviously you're having a problem clearing inventory."
His answer, "yeah, they are pretty decent smokes, but the price..."
I responded, "so they suck, huh?"
"... yeah."

I still have not tried a Vision (can't find them), but I do have the humidor at home. It's my main right now, but once I get a new humi it will be my travel one.
OK....so I must have forgotten about my first post about the Vision....because I had one sitting in my humi for about 9 months and I decided to smoke it just now, and it's not bad.
Ok...strike that....it sucks....it was not bad for the first 1/4...but after that it went downhill

This topic is probably dead, but I just read it. A very funny thread indeed.
I can say I have smoked the Vision a couple of times and while I wouldn't say it sucked, it wasn't at all impressive, especially considering the price.
That isn't to say that CAO doesn't make good cigars. I have enjoyed and would buy cigars in the Brazilia, Italia, and America lines. I've also tried the Soprano cigars, but they weren't for me.
Also, I know this isn't the Gurkha bashing thread, although some have tried. I like Gurkha cigars in general. I think the Gurkha Black Dragon is especially good.
And as a final comment, while I would agree that many brands make better cigars than the Vision in this price range including Padron and Tatuaje, I don't know where your are going to get Opus X's in this price range. I can't!
Well I couldn't remember for the life of me how good/bad the vision prana I had because I was drunk as sh*t....I can tell you tho....Great cigar if you get them cheap and smoke while drunk and can't remember them later (only got mine for the humidor)

There are a few relatively inexpensive CAO blends that I enjoy from time to time (Cameroon, Gold, Maduro), so I let myself get sucked in to the Vision marketing scheme and bought an Epiphany for $16 last month.
After letting it rest for a month I finally smoked it last week. It actually has that super premium smell coming out of the humidor, so I was looking forward to the smoke.
It was a pretty big let-down. It wasn't bad by any means, but definitely not worth the price. I have smoked hundreds of $5 cigars that are much better. The most frustrating thing was that it simply did not have any personality at all. Next time my $16 goes to an Opus or something.
Just in case anyone is looking for something in the "let's beat a dead horse" category . . . I had a Vision about 3 weeks ago. All i can say is that never have i spent so much for something so crappy. Harshness is not "robust flavor" it's just awful. This one actually made me sick . . like i wanted to puke sick. they must have been rushing to get this out and used leaves that weren't quite cured or aged enough . . someone made a boo boo
Some have said this was not "bad" but not worth $16 . . i don't think it's worth $1 i mean it was really bad
