Why are John Deere's green? So they can hide in the fields while the Farmall's do all the work.

Yeah it would appear she can hold three cigars in her hand at once.A true credit to the word multitasking.

STOP THE PRESSES! I JUST GOT AN E-MAIL FROM CAO...

quote:

WHAT IS "VISIONARY?"

Take the concept of an ordinary cigar box-typically crafted of wood or cardboard. Take that same decades-old concept and bring it into the 21st century by creating an all-new box that not only regulates the interior humidity at a desired 68-70% humidity level, but also has an exterior digital hygrometer AND serves as a travel humidor as well.....and all in an incredibly contemporary and stylish fashion.

THAT is visionary. THAT is CAO Vision-the cigar that was recently rated in the "Top 10 Best Cigars of the Year: 2007," according to Cigar Aficionado magazine.

GO HERE and see CAO President Tim Ozgener discuss this revolutionary cigar from CAO.

Wow. Now let's rewind and try that without the spin...

WHAT IS "VISIONARY?"

Take the concept of an ordinary cigar box-typically crafted of wood or cardboard -- which worked perfectly well for over 100 years and in which 99.999% of the world's best cigars are packed in today. Take that same decades-old concept and bring it into the 21st century by creating a completely unnecessary all-new box that not only regulates the interior humidity at a desired 68-70% humidity level, but also has an exterior digital hygrometer, both of which will work fantastic when you place the entire box into your cabinet humidor.

THAT is CAO Vision-the cigar that was recently rated in the "Top 10 Best Cigars of the Year: 2007," according to Cigar Aficionado magazine -- putting us in the company of such esteemed winners as Macanudo!!!

GO HERE and see CAO President Tim Ozgener discuss what he was smoking when he thought up the most ludicrous marketing concept ever introduced in the history of the cigar industry!

LOL! Well, still haven't smoked a Vision yet, so i cannot objectively throw in my 2 cents yet. My local b&m STILL has their two box allotment. I inquired but get this, you have to buy the whole freaking box! You can't just buy one and they are charging $450! Well, those two boxes have slowly migrated to the bottom corner shelf exactly next to the 50 cent bargain bin. They seem so sad with the neon lights off, collecting dust. Oh well.

God help us! CAO is going to ride that #9 Top 25 rating for the Vision for who knows how long. Possibly longer than Onyx has ridden there 94 rating back in the 2001.

After hearing all of the hype around the Vision since RTDA and now that it has made the Top 10 in Cigars from 2007, I had to pick one up.

Let me make this clear... I smoke on a somewhat regular basis with E-Cord so I know his feelings all too well. I am still trying to go into this with an open mind.

When I got the Vision home from a local B&M about 3 minutes from home to put it into my humidor for about a week so that I know the humidity is regulated... it cracked as I touched it. Now... it may be from the humidity level (low) in one of the local B&Ms or it may have been the one cigar that everyone seems to handle and then put back.

Anyway, I did not think that this wwas a good start to smoking one of the years best.

I will update you on Tuesday after I smoke it... once again with an open mind. I just hope it doesnt fully unravel on me.

if you're afraid of it unraveling due to a dry wrapper and cap, you can do one of the 2 following things:

1) if you plan on cutting the head of with a guillotine, then wet the cigar head before clipping it by putting it in you rmouth, and "soaking" the head with your saliva..

2) punch it

I stopped by one of my local b&m's today, they still have 3 boxes, each a different size. Out of each of them it looked as if maybe 2-3 had been purchased in each size. They have had them sitting there for a while. On each of the boxes though they had a sign that said buy 10 and get the vision humidor for free..... Wow such a deal. I don’t know how I based it up, but I did. lol

Two problems with this...

1) It started peeling in the dead middle of the cigar. I am not too worried about cutting it since it has been in my humidor for a few days now and it doing somewhat better, although it is still peeling in the middle.

2) It is a torpedo, so punching it wont really work.

Man, that crack in the middle is going to give you bad draws. I remember smoking a Gold Medal like that. The only time I can get a good draw was when I cover the crack with my fingers. By the end of the smoke, I got quite good at blocking the crack. The only thing that prevented me from tossing it was that the Gold Medal tasted so good! Good luck with the Vision though.

Well.... I smoked the #9 cigar of the year last night. The C.A.O. Vision Prana had none of the listed characteristics from the review in the top 25 list from CA. I really dont know how to explain it other than "Funky". No woody, toasty, roasted nut flavor. Actually at one point E-Cord mentioned that it really didnt smell all too good. Well, it didnt taste half as good as it smelled.

Roughly half way through the smoke I had no choice but to give up. Our local B&M mountain bike/stripper expert, "Larry" came in and he finished it off. From the words of Larry...
"This good one... This my kind. You good guy" Well Larry, thank you for finishing what I could not.

Please keep in mind that I really did go into this with an open mind and clean palate expecting something better than the public reviews. I really cannot honestly put this into a category of even "good", but it might just make the list for "mediocre".

I told E-Cord that I might be willing to pay $4 or $5 for this cigar to which he stated he could ramble off 20 cigars worth that price that would be better, which I do not doubt.

How could cigars like the San Cristobal, Padilla 1932 Lancero, DPG Cuban Classic 1979, and Tatuaje Havana VI finish behind the C.A.O. Vision?
