Appearance and construction 14/15 This cigar was kind of ugly. It had a large nasty vein running down the side and some green spots. The roll was uniform though and the belicoso tip was very well constructed.
Flavor 24/25 Bada Bing! BBF strikes again. This wasn't one of those 83 BBFs. This was a no holds barred cuban slapfest and my tastebuds were the victims. The flavors were great. Cocoa, nuts, spice and pepper with a very buttery texture. The richness was to die for. My only gripe is that I was smoking it in southern cali outside in the early evening and it was pretty hot. I accompanied it with a gin and tonic which did nothing for this cigar. It didn't compliment the flavors well. But the toasty rich tobacco flavors eventually overpowered the juniper flavors in the gin.
Smoking characteristics 22/25 The burn was a little uneven and it had that typical bolivar ugliness along the cherry. The strength was less than I expected from such a young BBF. But it still kicked like a chubby kid getting dropped off at fat camp. There was a little buzz but its hard to tell if this was the gin or the cigar talking. In retrospect I wish I had ditched the gin before I started smoking this.
Overall 33/35 Doesn't get much better than this. The winner and still champion IMO. This one didn't have the killer ooomph that some other BBFs I have smoked have had. I didn't even break out in a cold sweat. But the flavor is there in quantity. The draw was excellent and the smoke volume was ample. I have very little bad to say about this other than the burn being a little off.

Nice review PMP. I can never understand why reviewers gave this such a low score. Both the BBF and the PC are great tasting smokes and burn impeccably.

I am glad to hear that the 05's are keeping up a fine tradition of the 04's. BOY are those things addictive. THIS is a cigar that just continues to impress.

DAMN! I sparked another one of these last night. IT was killer. Once again it wasn't as strong as I have had before. In fact, I have to say it is the smoothest BBF I have ever had. But the finish is like 30 seconds long and heavenly.

By the way, Ive got some Partagas Series D #1 04s that are good now, and according to everyone here will only get better, if you want a couple let me know.
Thanks for the review. I have a fiver that is from nov 05 resting in my humi. The first one ever I had was a gifted BBF and it was earthy and a very nice smoke.
Yup. Earthy sweet is the boli profile. It doesn't take much to get you addicted. Grab the PCs or CJs if you can't afford the time or money for the belicoso fino. The only one I don't really like as well is the royal corona. Its kinda understated IMO.
