Amazing review! Sounds like a great smoke. Wow I cannot wait to try mine. I got a Torpedo instead of the robusto though. I am saving it until Fathers Day.

Great review Stoge....but I'm gonna let mine rest for at least another two weeks, then sit down and compare it to a PSD4.

The one you got DFW is a Hybrid I bet, I dont think they make the Miami 8/11 in a torp. I could be wrong though. The Hybrid is also a fantastic smoke, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I got 2 of them. Both are Torpedos. One is cameroon colored with a black, red, and gold band. The other is Maduro colored with a blue, black, and gold band. If what I read is correct the darker on in the blue band is the 8/11. Or maybe not.

Here is a picture...

The Blue and Black band is a Padilla Maduro(let this one sit for a while Wink) and the red and black is the Padilla Hybrid. You dont have a Miami 8/11. If your patient young grasshopper I will send you a Miami 8/11 when I get my box in. Wink

Man! That bites! LOL I was all excited about the 8/11. I feel like a jackass! LOL But at least I get to try a Hybrid and a Maduro. I guess I will just have to smoke my last Cuban Monte #2 for Fathers Day.
By the way I would be extremely grateful if you might gift me one when you get a box. Top notch you are Stogie!
Now time to go cry into my humidor.

Nice review Stoge, but next time could you elaborate just a little more....lol, it's like I need a digital bookmark to read the novel. I'm just jealous cause I could never review a cigar quite like you do.... Smile

Mike, let us know the results of your showdown, should be interesting.

Nice review, this cigar sounds pretty great. I can't wait until they come out. Anyone know the ETA on these sticks?

Funny you should mention PSD#4...I smoked an 8&11 yesterday and that's exactly what the flavor reminded me of.

Unfortunately, the burn was horrible...crooked, needed a touch up every time I ashed it...also, as it burned, it softened up so much that it was spongy by the end. It had a few weeks in the humi, too...but I'm not giving up on these yet, they're great tasting.

Great Review GREAT cigar.
I was stunned by the depth and compexity of the flavors. The burn was only as unvevn as a very oily wrapper would create. You know how I hate to praise somebody elses cigars, but this one was truly special.
I can only drum up 3 complains-
1)the cigar itself was a little soft (tiny bit undefilled?) although it didn't burn hot and the draw as perfect.
2)A slight mettalic undertaste that came and went a few times. Not enough to bother me, just enough to notice. I think this is characteristic of certain Nicaraguan tobaccos that must have been used somewhere in this cigar
3)Pricey? I thought so, but then again, a good cigar is a good cigar, and price at most should determine HOW OFTEN you smoke a particular cigar, not whether you smoke it at all.

I smoked one Friday and another today. If only they burned better, I'd buy a box. Still, it's an outstanding cigar and not overpriced when you consider how much it probably costs to make these.
