The Aurora 100 Anos had a medium dark wrapper, it had a well constructed wrapper. The cigar is well made. I liked the way the band was packaged with the lion on the label.

When I cut my cigar, it was a nice clean cut....the guillotine cut.

The draw was perfect and superb. To me it was somewhat creamy and dreamy. I'm definitely going to be smoking this nc cigar more often than not.

I especially enjoyed this cigar over the Opus X that I had yesterday. No bite to this cigar and I did not experience bitterness.

P.S. This is my first cigar review. Smile

I prefer Anos 100 to Opus X too. Too bad the brand is a done deal...I think this last shipment was the last. I wish the Aurora 1495 was a closer cousin to the Anos.

I've tried a handful of these and found them kind of young and, I don't know the word for it, "weedy" tasting, with an uneven burn and acrid smell. Maybe a year in the humidor would be called for, but frankly, nothing about them blew me away.

By the way - crass advertisement here - there's a new Pay It Forward going on in the trading forum. I'm up and have a few nice sticks selected for the first taker...

The 100 Anos belicoso is a smooth smoke. No bitterness what so ever. I enjoyed every second of it. If one could hold the hands of time, and slow each moment, when I engage with a great cigar, I would be pretty close to the gates of heaven watching the angels float in the smoke around me...

Extensionchord and punchmasta......I agree. I didn't want to believe it and I feel I was pretty critical and focused. The draw was superb to me.

The Cigar Shop owner said this is his probably his second favorite of the nc cigars.

I enjoyed this smoke a great deal. I believe it is CA's number 1 or number 2 cigar in 2004.

Another great cigar from La Aurora but too me a little pricey for what you get. I rather spend my money on Opus, Tatuaje or Davidoff.

I found this cigar to be essentially medium bodied, more towards the mild end of the medium spectrum. It had very minor notes of nuts and wood, but was essentially a straight-forward smoke. I am saying that, however in the best way I possibly can. Though there was nothing remarkable about the taste and character of the cigar, it is impossible to say the cigar was lacking somethihng or left you feeling unfulfilled. This cigar was incredibly smooth and quite pleasant, with not a hint of roughness or bitterness about it. The flavor is very pleasant and tasty, though it completely lacks the spices, sweetness, and/or coffee/nuts that are so prominent in many smokes made today.

The best part of this cigar is its construction. The wrapper is beautiful, and the filler inside is very firm with no bumps or mushy spots. The cigar actually feels way more solid than it should, and I was nervous that the cigar would draw too tightly as a result. But the draw was perfect, and the burn was very even and incredibly slow. The churchill should be given a minimum of 90 minutes to smoke, even for a fast smoker; it just burns that slow. The best construction I have ever seen on a churchill, hands down.

Only drawbacks on this cigar would be the mildness of the cigar, but if mild-medium cigars that are more medium than mild are "your thing," then this cigar is perfect for you. Also those who enjoy a complex cigar with many contrasting flavor notes might be disappointed by the "plain-ness" of the cigar. But regardless, this is a fabulous cigar, which says a lot coming from someone who normally smokes OpusX's, RP Olde World Reserves, Tatuaje Cojonus, LfD Double Ligeros, and other full-bodied smokes. A perfect mid-morning and afternoon smoke that can be smoked even on an empty stomach.

I agree with abbazabba. I reviewed these when they first came out and have tried a few since then. The torpedo is good. The rest of the line I found flavorfully sparse, dry and prone to over heating. The construction is impeccable and the appearance of the wrapper is great. Otherwise these aren't worth the money or the hype.
