Question for you Torano guys...I picked up a couple Torano Exodus silvers based on what I'd read here (robusto and torpedo). Got them from a good shop with a nice walk-in humidor.
Do these still need to sit 2-3 months, or should they be good now? Been in my humi a week or so.
I'm not sure how long they've had them in, but I can find out.
A good cigar and a good drink on the back deck by the lake...if that doesn't make you relax, nothing will!

Like Smokie said, let them sit. 2-3 months will usually work but if you can hold off longer they'll be even better.

I think the Torano's benefit from time in the humidor more than most. To me, the Casa Toranos and the Tributes seem to be easier to smoke without giving them a rest, but the silvers and the golds need one for sure. All of them just get better with age. I was about to write the brand off way too early on for this reason - I just picked up some silvers and signatures at a shop and they tasted horrible. Now, Toranos are right up there with Padrons as a top shelf brand in my book. That's my $.02

I got a box of sivers torps and 1916 torps in the humi aging Andy. After about 6 months or so I'll send you some more

[QUOTE]I was kinda surprised to see the reserva on your list. That is one of the worst cigars I have ever smoked. I smoked 2 - 5 packs at different times and all of them tasted like cardboard to me. Then again I don't like the regular exodus line either. The H2000 wrapper doesn't do it for me.
QUOTE]
I've only smoked one Reserva and I can't remember anything bad about it, that's why I lumped it in there. The sig's the only Torano that I haven't enjoyed.
Peace.

The Reserva Selecta is one of the finer Connecticut wrapper smokes on the market for the money. I have less problem with wrapper splits on that cigar than any other CS wrapper cigar I smoke and that includes Gisperts, Perdomos, etc. and the flavor is consistent every time. The Torano Sigs do get better after a month or two in the humidor and past that turn into a very enjoyable and full flavored smoke. The 1916's need about three months to be at their best. The 59 Golds and Silvers about two months or so.
Torano to me doesn't make a bad smoke, and the caps are a heckuva lot better than Padron ever thought about.

The sig's I had tasted of ammonia and were a bit harsh. Perhaps they were too young when I sampled them.
Guess I'll have to revisit these.
The CAO definitely had the harshness. In fact, I almost shunned NC's completely due to harshness detected in almost every smoke. I must thank Stogie for getting me back on track.
Peace.

Not yet, Im saving it for a moment I can really enjoy that churchill. Ive just been to busy to smoke lately, but things are fixin to slow down a bit. You just gave me an idea Smokie, I think I'll smoke it on Easter.
Most of the time if a smokes harsh it can usually be fixed with some humi time or some aging, but sometimes its just not the case. Glad to be of service El_Presidente, I need to send you a package so dont let me forget.

No worries . I'm actually just curious to see what you think about it with that much age on it and how they compare to the Torps. I personally think the Torps egde it out because of practicality but the flavors on those Churchills are damn good. Hope you enjoy it!
