First bundled cigar I ever tried. I don't usually have a lot of time to smoke so I've been hesitant to experiment with bundled smokes.

The Nicaraguan Bundles, from what I was told, are believed to be Nicaraguan Puro's. I had one yesterday and while it burnt terribly (but it was snowing and really windy) the flavor was awesome. I smoked the Toro and a friend was haveing the Torpedo with no burn problems. My stick was fairly strong but not harsh. My buddy said his was milder. The flavor is great. I bought two bundles of the Torpedo's to age in tupperdor's for this summer. These will make an excellent golf/fishing/yard gar.

Can you tell I was impressed? Nice Nicaraguan earthy flavors with hints of cocoa. What a value at $1.40 a stick.

Ok, I've been revisiting these lately and I just banned them from my cooledor and gave them all to a friend. Every one plugged while I was smoking it. I don't care if they're f@cking free, I don't have a lot of time to smoke and I definitely don't have time to waste on a plugged cigar.

The flavor is excellent. What a waste of good tobacco. For my bundle money, it's Flor De Oliva or Connies from now on, preferabley FDO.

Peace.

Tabacolara Tropical can kiss my white a$$.

They really taste great though. If they could just get their tobacco to Torano to have it rolled properly they'd be great smokes.

Well, did you get the package yet?

Peace.

LOL...you left out hairy.
Nothing yet, I'm hoping today. I figured it shipped ground, and me being on the best coast, it should take an extra day or two.

Two different times I have purchased bundled cigars. NEVER again. Both bundles were a pile of manure. As El said time is valuable.

connie rock though. And FDO's are so good you hate to bunch them together with other bundled cigars. Their Gold is a great smoke with coffee.

I think I burnt my palet. I'm really digging milder smokes now. I LOVE the Casa Torano. Thanks Stogie for the site...just ordered a box.

Stogie, do the 59's taste better after they age a bit? You sent me one (I think you sent me one) that was awesome. I got some in that were over humidified and they taste a little harsh in spots right now. I figure a little age may help that or they are still over humidified.

Peace.

Most definitely, that Exodus gold(59) and Exodus Silver had 6-7 months or more on them. They were my last ones in the humi Frown, but I bought another box Big Grin Let them settle for 3 months and they should be all right. If you want, smoke one every month just to see how their coming along.

I'm glad you like the Casa Torano El Presidente, its one of my favorite Torano smokes ( I don't think they make a bad one do they). And like you said, if more people would send their tobacco to Torano to have it rolled, I don't think we'd have any plugged cigars out there, I haven't had a plugged Torano in god knows how long. Some even say that Torano cigars draw too easy.......to me thats what makes them so good, lots of smoke, lots of taste, without having to feel like you're sucking a lemon through a straw.

I know it's just me and everybody else that smokes cigars likes them, but I don't like the CAO Brazillia's or the Torano Sigs. I guess it's the Brazillian wrapper. I've had a couple of the CAO's and everybody seems to like them. I've had one Sig and I have another somewhere so I'll give it another shot, but they taste sour to me. Now, the Tribute, 1916's, Reserva, Casa's are all yummy. I haven't tried the Nic selection yet.

Time to try those HFC's if you want a decently constructed bundle.

I won a contest recently and recieved a large mix of smokes. I noticed the Cacique Miami sitting in my Humi the other day. The band said Nicaragua on it. I've never had one or seen one before so I took it outside after lunch yesterday and fired it up.

Started out a bit harsh but warmed up with excellent flavor....very earthy Nicaraguan with subtle underlying flavors of unsweetened cocoa and coffee. I puffed a bit more and noticed the depth of the oils in the chocolate brown Corojo wrapper. This was quite an appealing cigar and I couldn't believe I haven't heard/read anything about these. The flavor was somewhat familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.

As I was staring at the thick oily wrapper I noticed the burn starting to go south. I took another draw and I couldn't produce any smoke so I pinched the cigar right below the ash and heard/felt the "crunch" of the plugged tobacco. That sound and feel instantly jarred my memory....this Cacique Miami was the same cigar as the Tabacalera Tropical bundles I just gave away. Those Ham Fisted rollers struck again.

WTF!!!

Peace.

I'm not the biggest fan of those two smokes either. I've only had a few CAO Brazilias but the flavor was just odd to me. I'm not sure I've ever smoked a Sig but I actally have heard a lot of negative feedback on them so I'm not that eager to. The other Toranos are great, I've been smoking 'em for a few years.

El Pres, it must be the brazilian wrapper that you don't like. They are similar tasting cigars. I like the sig a little better these days although I used to be more fond of the CAO. I have had my share of plugged brazilias. The torano is a solid smoke. With some good age on it, the flavors can be somewhat overwhelming. I was kinda surprised to see the reserva on your list. That is one of the worst cigars I have ever smoked. I smoked 2 - 5 packs at different times and all of them tasted like cardboard to me. Then again I don't like the regular exodus line either. The H2000 wrapper doesn't do it for me.

There is one thing that all Toranos seem to share and that is their need for some age. Unlike some cigars who slightly improve with age, Toranos get drastically better. The last 3 boxes of silvers I have had didn't even get worth smoking until 6 months and then they were awesome. It pays to be patient.

That's deffinately true. I have a box of 1916's in my huni right now that have been there for a little over a year and a half and they are a completely different cigar. I need to get a few boxes of Toranos and put them in a seperate humi to just stash away.

My palet has been screwed up lately and I've been gravitating towards milder smokes. The Casa Torano is my favorite right now. Maybe that's why I like the Selecta Reserves....or it's just the glass tube.

I really like the Gold 59's, but I think that is the same wrapper on the Caciques' and the bundles that I've been complaining about. I like a good, thick wrapper and the H2000 is nothing if not thick.

Now, on to my next topic of discussion.....

Peace.
