Got a few of these in trade the other day. Here is an initial review.

Apperance and Construction (14 of 15 points possible)
Average to good construction. The corona gorda size is by far my favorite. Medium brown wrapper, nice fill, good clip, nothing noteworthy in this department really good or bad. Above average is a good description.

Flavor (21 of 25 points possible)
Nice flavor mildly complex but a bit subdued with a short finish. Not going to knock your head off as far as strength goes. All in all, a nice straight forward smoke. It didn't get hot at all. The last inch was the best with more cocoa and bitersweet flavors developing and lingering on the palate a bit longer. Could be a little stronger is my only complaint.
I'm a boli guy I guess.

Smoking Characteristics (22 of 25 points possible)
Nice even burn, good ash, etc... Average once again.

Overall Impression (30 of 35 points possible)
I can't really complain about this cigar however I also can't rave about it. It was very pleasant and pretty satisfying too but just didn't really stand out as something fantastic. I will say that it is better than most N/C's I have had. It offers a really good cuban flavor profile but a little subdued. This IMO is a fantastic cigar for someone who wants to see what a cuban cigar should taste like but doesn't want their head handed to them. Personally, I was a little disappointed having read so many good reviews. I will review it again in a month or so and then decide if it is a keeper or if I am going to stick with my bolivars.

Overall Score - 87

Nice review, this is a cigar that I enjoy on occasion. I like H.Uppmanns to mix it up a little.

I don't think you got sticks representative of the mag46. That's the problem with sampling 1 or 2...can be hit or miss.

Well, maybe that is the case. I didn't think the mag 46 was a bad cigar by any stretch of the imagination. But I wouldn't choose it over a BBF or a RASS. Would you?

I haven't purchased RASS or BBF's in a long time. Yet I continue to stock Mag46's. I've had some that weren't so great, but that will happen with any stick. Sometimes they just aren't ready...or sometimes they never will be.

Second Mag 46 was much much better than the first. I can see what all the fuss is about now.

Don't know the boxcode. They came in a trade. I am sure they were young.

I was gonna say from you first review ... you didn't smoke a real Mag. But apparently, the second one showed you its real stripes.

Mags CAN be real asskickers, sometimes not, depends on a lot of things, what they always should be is a standout Corona Gorda. They should give you a very strong Upmann profile, with a very nice finish. Nothing subdued about this cigar.
